New preemie mum

Little Harry was born on the 17th Feb weighing 4lb 12oz by elective section because of his breech position, lack of fluid around him and a dip on the heart rate monitor. He is 11 days old today and we are at home after a stay in SCBU for his glucose levels.

He lost some weight in the first week, which the consultant wasnt worried about as all babies do obviously, but the nursery nurses in the SCBU were so bossy about me doing 54mls every 4 hours for his feeds. I struggle to get him to have 54mls in one feed sometimes and im finding 40/45mls every 3hrs is better.

He is getting weighed by the HV this Friday so fingers crossed he is putting on weight a little.

Just wanted to introduce myself as im sure i will be in this forum alot x

hi,
My daughter was born at 36 weeks .. she was 5lb 3 ...
She wouldnt eat alot every for she prefered little and often which worked out same really, i think they try take over sometimes and we just want to get our parent stamp in there lol!

my daughter is now 4 happy and healthy so don't be worried do what you feel makes him happy.

Congratulations. Thomas was born at almost 34 weeks back in July. Now he is 7 months and you would never know.
