New problem!!

Well i had loads of problems in the beginning with BF but finally managed to get pain free feeds when Alfie was about 6 1/2 months. Now on my right nipple i am gettin a weird pain like a friction burn kinda pain?! Its so weird, Alfie seems to be latching right but he causing this pain on the inner side of my right nipple At one point half of that nipple actually came away so i'm just wondering if it is maybe the damage that has been caused and its just hurtin cos the nipple hasn't grown back yet?!? Soo confused. I've just finished my peer supporter training and brought this up with my LC but she is baffled too!!! Any ideas? Oh and its not thrush either as i have had that before a zillion times and the pains totally different and no sign in Alfie's mouth

Is he teething? I know that my nipples cause me a bit of pain when Brenn is teething.

Its just normal, not ridged oranythin, thats why i'm so confused!!!

Yeah he seems to be gettin his first tooth thru!!! You think that could be it??

I was gonna say maybe teething as I know you know about good latches, thrush etc.

I have this at the moment on the one nipple and it's definitely Poppy's teeth rubbing on it. I know this because the teeth on the one side of her mouth came earlier so they are bigger, hence the pain in only the one nipple (if that makes any sense?) I've just been plastering on the Lansinoh and having plenty of fresh air to it. It almost feels like when you have a blister from your shoes rubbing but you just keep wearing them anyway?

A first tooth will also change their saliva a bit. I remember it bothing me quite a bit when Brenn's first teeth broke through. I think it is pretty common to become a bit sore. I don't remembering it lasting too long though.

Goin great its our last session on Tuesday

I helped my first person this week and she's doin great i was so pleased cos she was havin really bad trouble and was very sore but her latch is gettin better and the pains stopping. I was so scared she was gonna give up but she's carryed on bless her. It brought back all the memories of my trouble i felt so sorry for her

Thats exactly how it feels its awful!!!!

Had a look in his mouth yesterday and there is deffo a little tooth coming up the the surface of the gum, there's a white line now where its gonna come thru, i just hope it comes thru quick so he's not in too much pain poor thing
