We switched to formula a couple of weeks ago after 5 months breastfeeding. My baby sometimes drinks random amounts. Sometimes 6 oz sometimes 3 1/2 or 4oz. Sometimeshe will go 3-4 hours between feeds and sometimes 1-2 hours. Is this normal? Will it take time for him to adjust to formula. I was expecting it to be more consistent!

I imagine its ok hun baby may have taken different amounts when breastfeeding also you just can't tell. Bit annoying to waste it tho. I breastfed both of mine then combi Fed and mine have always been inconsistent but I feed on demand too. What I guess I I am saying is if you formula feed from day one lo gets into a routine but because breastfeeding is on demand mostly I think they continue to snack more and be a bit irregular with amounts and times. Might be wrong tho. My first lo never drank more than 3oz in one sitting but ate more often he was gaining brilliantly so I think its fine

Ah! Thanks for your reply. It's reassuring. I think it's just friends of mine who have FF from day one have said I should try and make him wait it out between feeds to try and teach him to take more! I definitely knew I wouldn't be doing that!!
