New to LTTTC Forum...

I'm Ashley and I have been on babyandbump for quite some time now. I think it's time I make the switch to the long term trying to conceive section now. DH and I have been trying for a few months shy of 2 years now. I have tried Femara (started with that due to insurance coverage) and I think I ovulated on a 5mg dose for one cycle of that. Unfortunately, I obviously did not get pregnat and the only thing I have to make me think I did ovulate was a positive LH test. Now, I have never had a positive LH test before and have not had one since this time which is why I think I did ovulate at that time. After that cycle I switched from a regular OB/GYN to a fertility specialist. (The story about all of that is in my journal but I'll spare the details on here...) I have now been TTC on Clomid after switching doctors again. The last cycle I took 150mg Clomid CD 5-9. I have been getting labwork done a few times a month to see if it's working. No luck so far.

I'm wondering what others have tried after Clomid and after Femara. I'm hoping my doctor will switch me to Femara to try again if the Clomid continues to fail. But I'm wondering what my other options are and what others have had luck with. Would love anyones advice. Thanks everyone!

Welcome sweetie!!! They ,may try doing a IUI, have they spoke about that as yet? I have done the clomid 12 rounds of it nd hated it. I am on first cycle of femara nd love it as it's less harsh on ur body nd also less side effects unlike clomid does.

Hi!

I'm on clomid now, and I really can only say I know I for sure ovulated once - I may have ovulated this month, but I'm not 100% sure. I haven't tried femara yet, my dr said that will be started next month. I have been taking 50mg clomid days 3-5.

It's definitely a bit of a pain. I wish we had a built in monitor that just said a flat "yes" or "no" to if we ovulated or not!

I'm assuming the next step if the pills do t work is IUI. I am almost looking forward and hoping that the pills will just work or not work so I can move onto the IUIs. I just have a feeling that will be my lucky combo.

I know the dr mentioned multiple ultrasounds to determine what's going on during my cycles but we were trying to just do labs to monitor them at first. I go back to the dr tomorrow for labs to see if I ovulated or not so we'll see.

If ur not ovulating then they will put u on a higher does of clomid or femara. No matter wot fertility treatment u have whether it's IUI, IVF u need to b Oing, so they will get u Oing.

Well I had a followup with my doctor earlier this week. He said it seems as though the clomid isn't doing the trick and we need to take another step. I asked if we could try Femara for one cycle (double the dose I took last year) and see if it works. He agreed. So I'll start Femara and have CD 21 and 28 labs to see if I ovulated. After this we will go back to 150mg Clomid do ultrasounds and determine if a follice is being produced and just not released and consider hcg injections if that's the case... He said short of those two things that's the extent of his ability to treat infertility. He said if this doesn't work we'll have to go to a fertility specialist that does IVF etc more often and consider Pregnyl. He also said we could always try ovarian drilling. I'd rather try meds first... I'm crossing my fingers hoping that either the Femara works or the Clomid with hcg works and I don't have to go to anyone else, but we shall see!

I just want to wish you good luck. Haven't been put on any medication as it appears I am ovulating but still no BFP

Fingers crossed for you, there are lots of success stories out there hopefully you will be one of them
