My bio is in my siggy, I am 39 years old (birthday was last month) and I found out I am preggers with our second baby. I thought after dealing with infertility and all with my second pregnancy things were gonna be different.

Well, they are even worst!. With Francesca I found out I was :pink: at 6 weeks 3 days so we even had a heartbeat by then. I chart but in that particular cycle I was planning a trip to Greece and throw the charting out the window...I just remembered my last day of menstruation and I had written down when I got good cervical mucus so more or less I knew when I ovulated. So I was further along.

With this pregnancy...I had a feeling, I swear it had nothing to do with symptoms, so I tested, I was between 9-11 DPO, I was only charting Cervical Mucus and not temps because my thermometer was out of batteries...well I got a BFP. It was not a dark line so I tested again next day and the line was definitely and without a doubt darker. Dr. ordered a beta that was 94.2 and places me between 13-14 DPO, today I need to get my second beta and I am anxious and feeling soooo worried...sigh!

I should be in :cloud9: and here I sit  and analyzing every single twinge or pain or whatever I feel...to top it all two people in real life had say "You need to worry because you are having this child too old"...what is that supposed to mean?

Hey there! First of all, you really need to relax and give your emotions a break. I am 36, and going to be three weeks from my 37th birthday when this baby is born in January. This is our third baby and was definitely NOT planned. I cried for days and completely freaked. I've heard all the advanced maternal age horror stories and just shove them aside. If something is going to go wrong, there is literally nothing you or your OB can do about it unless it's a progesterone issue, or something along those lines. Twinges/pains are very common in early pregnancy and you have to take them with a grain of salt. Chances are in your favor that your precious baby will be just fine. As far as the people making comments about your age. Screw them! Next time someone makes a nasty comment, just tell them to, "shut it", and that you feel fantastic. Even though you may be about to puke on their shoes. Hang in there, you'll be fine.

Congrats and welcome! I turned 40 in July and am 18 weeks tomorrow. I opted for an amnio and the preliminary results were perfect...just waiting for the final results to come in. With or without extra testing, know that your odds of having a healthy baby are in your favor! Try not to stress so much about your age, as there are many of us on her that are older and things are going great! I am doing pretty good besides being sick as a dog. :haha:

My mom had my youngest sister at 36. One of my sisters had her baby at 37. My bestfriend from highschool had her son at 37. My maternal grandmother had her youngest at 42.

Older mammas are more common that people think...the whole "too old" statement is just plain silly.

Congrats! :)

You are just so kind..thanks!. I had my first pre-natal visit on Wednesday. Dr. thinks I am having a text book pregnancy and says everything is going the way it should as of now. He gave me the "extra testing due to age" talk but I figured that I won't get anything good if I keep stressing myself over this...so I will just cross that bridge when I get there and period

Thanks everyone :hugs:
