New to weaning - baby won't even open his mouth!!

Little bugger won't open his mouth for mashed banana, sweet potato, carrot etc, and if I try him with pieces of steamed carrot, broccoli etc he sniffs them, pulls a face and drops them!

Does it just take a while before they get used to the smell and idea of real food? It's a bit annoying as he's not great with drinking his milk either!

sounds like hes not ready yet. how old is he?

He's just turned six months. He's been off his milk for about a month and a half but volumes are just starting to pick up.

maybe lay the spoon infront of him and leave him to it, see if he picks it up and plays with the food himself? joel wasnt interested in genuine solids at first but loved playing with spoons. nothing wrong with waiting a little longer though!
