Off topic question but it's about my 6 day old. She is formula fed and past few days she has only pooed once a day. Today was especially thick it's was like a ball. It wasn't solid as you could squish it but I feel this isn't right. My daughter used to poo every feed sometimes more! It was also really runny, so my newborn doesn't seem right to me? She cries while pooing. Ive tried tummy massage. Shall I switch the formula?

My baby is formula fed and has been since day 2, once a day is normal for a FF baby and they're only considered constipated if it's been a week since the last poo.

Formula is harder to break down than breast milk so BF babies poo more often.

If it seems hard then baby may be a bit dehydrated although if you're having plenty of wet nappies (about 5 a day) it's probably ok.

Check with your HV they may suggest 20ml of cooled boiled water between feeds but it's best to check first.

Its normal. If its toothpaste thick and yellow its fine. Sometimes Maddie squits after a 'solid' poop. It's normal xx
