heya guys so onces my bubba is born i really want to and intend on Breast feeding, BUT if that doesnt go to plan i really want to be prepared with some bottles and formula just incase.
What would you all suggest to get for newborn formula and bottles?
Any ones i should stay away from?

We're using SMA gold and tommee tippee closer to nature bottles cause they are anti colic and the teats are big and supposed to mimic breastfeeding =) !

I think its all down to your own bubba which formula you use - i based mine on what both me and my OH had when we were babies, and that was obviously SMA :) !

xX

Thanks :)
That was a really good idea, basing it all on what you and OH had.
I was actually thinking with going with them myself. But wast sure...
I am just worried that if i dnt have a reserve incase breast feeding doesnt work then i wil jus keep stressing and what not.
Least if i have it and baby isnt feeding i know he wont stave:p

We use the Avent bottles & steriliser and Cow & Gate feed.
Joe wouldn't latch, so BF wasn't an option for us :( We had the steriliser & bottles before he was born but OH had to run out and get some feed as soon as we got back from the hospital!

TT CTN bottle & quoqose formula from nestle. I tried NAN 1 gold, but didnt like it as it turned the poop green & gases soo smelly.

We use the TT closer to nature bottles too! I would highly recommend them!

We use Aptamil 1 formula. I didnt really research into formula because I had planned on BF but Brandon had to have a formula feed while in hospital as he wouldnt latch on and the midwife recommended we give him Aptamil as she said it was the closest to breastmilk! x x x

we use TT closer to nature as we were hoping to BF and FF...but the BF'ing didnt work out blub.

we're using SMA gold now but have been told that Aptamil is closest to breast milk so when this tub of SMA has gone we'll try Dewi on a couple cartons of Aptamil...if it doesnt upset his tummy we'll be switching.

Yep i had tommee tippee bottles to with Lexie and if you are intending to try and bf then buy the cartons of formula as a stand by. We had sma gold. xx

When it comes to how much formula it really depends on the baby...there are recommendations on the tins but every baby is different.

Just make up a couple ounces and if they drink it all and still seem hungry use more.

But a newborn may only take an ounce then another an hour later.

Just feed them what they will take on demand...they will settle into a routine after a while.
