I just wondered what age you'll be moving your lo's into the next stage carseat? The maxi cosi infant seat says until 29lb but the maxi cosi tobi (forward facing), the one we're thinking of getting says suitable from 20lb! I know it says you should keep them rear facing as long as possible so i was just seeing what everyone thought? I haven't had Harry weighed in a few weeks but he must be near 20lb now :haha:

I don't feel he's ready for forward facing yet, he's still my little :baby:
I noticed my cousin's baby has gone forward facing and he's 3 weeks older than Harry and it just got me thinking!!

:flower:

Its best to keep them in an infant carrier for as long as you can. They are much safer :D

Depending where you live you have to keep them rear-facing until 9 months. I will be keeping LO rear-facing until he is at least 3. It is just soo much safer!

River will be rear facing until 4. we have the britax hi-way

I looked into that website you told me about the other day. I really love the idea of them but dont their legs get abit squished? Xxx

Once they are older 2+ their legs do tend to eithier be crossed or up the back of the seat but if you watch kids in other situations they are very comfortable sitting cross legged.

The way I see it is (in a crash) broken legs is better then a broken neck. I know that sounds harsh but that can be the difference between ff and rf

True, i think im sold on the idea. Im gunna start saving now. :) xxx

We moved Omar recently. He's 11 kgs & too long & we couldnt strap him in his infant car seat anymore. I couldnt find a combination seat that goes above 11 kgs rear facing here so had to go for forward facing.

Hayden is turning 3 in 10 days and just this week switched FF, he is really running out of room in our current car because of how the seats have to be arranged. But when we get our new car, hopefully very soon! He'll go back RF

We're keeping LO rear facing :) My DuoLogic 2 is on its way from Sweden  It's suitable from birth to 18kg. At the rate my LO is growing, she won't hit 18kg till after she's 5, so gives us loads of use

I know rear facing are safer and we will keep Harry in his infant seat for as long as possible but Lottie is 3 and a half and she would hate being rear facing! She loves talking to us in the car etc we'd have no end of upset if she had to be rear facing! I didn't know they even did them up to that age! x

I suppose it depends what they are used to :) If they've only ever been rear-facing, then they wouldn't know any different. I can imagine that if they have been forward facing for ages, then trying to turn them would probably be really difficult :)

Where did you order your DuoLogic 2 from?

We have just moved Samuel into a maxi-cosi Tobi as he was getting squished in his baby seat and his head was coming out of the top! He weighs around 21lbs now. He loves his new seat and all the extra room!

weve just moved out little girl out of her baby carrier today, shes still in a reer facing seat but she just got 2 big for her baby carrier one.
i really would considder getting another reer facing one. a group 1-2-3 or somthing that will grow with your child thats what we got.
mines soutible for rear facing till shes 15 months. i will just buy another rear facing then if i dont think shes ready.

Can't recommend this site enough. I e-mailed them to ask about whether the DuoLogic would be suitable for us (needs, baby size/shape, car etc) and Hakan was *so* helpful. They are utterly fantastic

Hayden has been FF a few times before this and he actually prefers RF, it's more comfortable  Casen, who is now 5, was FF for a long time then we got a seat that he was able to fit RF and he sat like that for a few months when he was almost 5 and loved it

The advisers in Kiddicare said that babies can move up to the next (ie FF) seat any time from 22lb onwards, but they should also not be graduated until they can sit unsupported (just in case any of you have large-but-young babies).

i have the britax first class plus which rear faces until 28lbs so we moved her into that when she was about 5 months

got it in toysrus for £109 :)

wow, now i feel like a crap mommy bc i have been getting excited about when Haley weighs enough that I can put her in the forward facing seat just bc I think she'll be much happier in the car. Day time isnt too bad, but when its dark out I think the back of my SUV scares her so I'll be happy when she can look up and see mommy and daddy and not freak out.
