Just had my doctor's appointment. Went in, got weighed (gained a lb since last appointment 4 weeks ago), blood pressure was great (124/70, much better than last time, it was around 140/90 last time). Then went into room after peeing in a cup for them. Waiting about 2 minutes for doctor to come in, she measured fundal height, and got to hear baby HB again (which I think she said was about 152). She asked if I was feeling baby moving more, said yeah, and that was it. The only thing they really talked about in detail was me getting this blood test to test for downs, that right now they aren't sure if I'm going to get because they are waiting to hear back from my insurance provider to see if they will pay for it. I was told that the nurse is going to try to find out the details within the next couple days, and call me, but if I haven't heard from them in a week, to call because its "very important to be done". At this time I'm not even sure I want it done. But anyway, while in the room, no mention of the "20 week ultrasound". So I asked, and she said I think it's between 24-28 weeks here, but let me check. Yep sure enough they don't even do the next scan until at least 24 weeks. I'm very surprised as this. I was so hoping to go in today, and schedule my 20 week ultrasound. So now it won't even be scheduled until my next appointment which isn't until July 9th, because she is on vacation the week before, so I'll be about 23 weeks along.

Sorry, just a little annoyed. Plus I was at the doctor's for a total of about 20 minutes. That is the quickest I've been there, and I don't remember having such short visits when I was pregnant with DS. Maybe because he was my first, and I was a FTM, I had more questions, but that doctor I had then was wonderful, she spent time with me, to make sure everything was okay with me. I like this doctor, but there are times I wish a doctor could be a bit more personable and spend time with their patients. I was also the only patient there, except when I was walking out, another lady was coming in. lol sorry I'm just ranting

I felt that way with my Dr when I was pregnant with my DD. I always felt rushed and I had three scans total - 1st was at 7 weeks to check viability, 2nd at 20 weeks and 3rd at 36 weeks to check growth. I guess being a FTM I thought (and hoped) that I would get to see baby a lot more.
When I got closer to the end of my pregnancy my doctor spent a lot more time with me each visit, asking more questions and talking about what could /should happen. He said the first 2 trimesters are pretty much just "cruise control."

In the end he turned out to be a fabulous doctor and was amazing when it came time for delivery and I wish everyone could go see him because he is fantastic at his job! Hoping the same for you!:hugs:

Yeah, I'm just a little annoyed because this is all different for me. I moved up here 6 years ago, so it's a different doctor office/hospital. They do things differently than another hospital/doctor's office. I'm just disappointed I don't get to see Pickle again until at least 24 weeks. But this does give OH more time to decide if he wants to know the gender or not.
