Nifedipine to stop contractions??!!

I got a call from doctor's office this morning saying that my cervix is short and they are worried about preterm labour so prescribed me a couple things and one of them is Nifedipine to stop contractions, which I have been having but thought it was just braxton hicks. when I read about it ( I know I shouldn't have) it had so many side effects and the nurse also told me on the phone its going to make you feel off!
Has anyone tried this? how did you feel?? did it cause sudden weight gain? It says its also used to lower bp but my blood pressure it already low and im worried it will lower it even more causing fainting and stuff!!!

Sorry, no real advice. The side effects will be worth it as your baby needs to sit thight for several weeks before being born. Wishing you strength and rest for at least several weeks. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks Qmama, i started it already and feel ok.. I sure hope this baby can hold off till at least 37 weeks!!
