Nipple wound/scab - can I still breastfeed?

My baby bit me hard and I have a small sore on my areola where she broke the skin. Is it okay to continue breastfeeding? Every-time she nurses on that side it's torture, but at this point I'm used to it haha. Is there a possibility of it getting infected? xx

I'm in the same boat, I just put nipple cream on a pad and let it soak in and it heals fairly quick. LO still eats and it hasn't got infected.

Okay, thanks for the reply I'll send OH off for the cream tonight as I just realized I don't have any (I only used this little sample tube they gave me at the hospital in the early days anyway) hopefully it'll do the trick xx

You're fine to keep nursing give it lots of air and let milk dry on it.

Use newmans nipple cream, will help it heal if its to painful maybe use a nipple shield? But i woyld keep nursing to keep your supply up

yes what seaweed eater said check out lasinoh too..that stuff is wonderful.
