As some of you know..Baby Kayla has 7 different birth defect with seem to be non related....During my last ultra sound they found birth defect #7..she has anal opening....1 in every 5000 babies are born with this yet most parents dont know until after birth. Due to Kayla problems they did a check to see and it wasnt there....

Anyone else having a baby with no anal opening? If so what have the doctors told you about fixing the problem?

I know a child that was born with this and I think they just had a stoma after birth. Once they are healed and settled, it is just a new way of life that you are used to.

My son will need a stoma and has had catheters since birth. For me it is no extra hassle, it is just different. I still take him to the toilet like any other child, but no one knows what happens behind the door. It is very easy and I know no different. It should not affect his lifestyle in anyway.

The stomas are so discrete these days that no one will know it is there.

Thank you......I have been told that its not noticeable at all....I even have a friend who told me last night that they had to wear a bag cause their anal didnit work....I was shocked cause I never knews this about him. Happy as well cause he is doing so great..Gives me a lot of hope
