NO electric blanket?

I just read this ...
https://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/electricblanketexpert/

Saying its safe =/ . . . but I ain't taking no risks.

I dont think it is...
i use Electric blanket but for pregnant woman it is not preferable...
I don't believe that.

I don't need an electric blanket with the heat I'm giving off!! I'm like a radiator at night in bed, and I can't sleep through sweating :(

My understanding is that you shouldn't do anything to raise your core body temp so things like saunas and steam rooms are out but hot water bottles are ok as they heat you up outside but not your core temp. Not sure how it works with electric blankets but I suppose as long as you keep it on low it should be ok.

I have been turning it on about 10 mins before going to bed and turn it off the moment I get in. This way, I'm sure not to overheat and the bed is nice and warm!
I have had 2 ultrasounds, one just a few days ago and baby is very active and healthy!

I use a heating pad pretty much every night on my back...I dont know where you got your info but I went to babycenter.com, that is were I get most of my info. Check this out! I copied and pasted the next parigraph!

A heating pad applied to sore muscles or aching joints won't harm your baby, because moderate heat applied to one area of your body won't raise your overall blood temperature. And there's no evidence that EMFs (electromagnetic fields) pose any danger to developing babies.

so I dont think that everyone should be freaking out about a heating pad...the blanket I would get checked out not because of EMPs but because of it making your core temp rise!

I'm still using mine but I dont tend to sleep on my stomach so it's really just heating my back, without it I don't think I'd be able to sleep to well as I cant bare being cold. I guess the key is to use in moderation and not to leave it on pre-heat or really high all night. :)

OMG sometimes I even fall alseep with mine on Preheat, infact it's on right now, i'll be sure to turn it right down, I have noticed I am definitely more cold all the time, having to layer up lots and even having hotter showers, is this normal :S ?

This is a rather old thread but I have to agree with this!

I've been COLDER than normal this pregnancy.

But then I wake up scalding hot around 3am. LOL so strange.

Snap, I'm generally quite a cold person anyway, but since being pregnant I've been even colder than normal, roll on summer :)

So, the big point is, as long as you are not overheating, it is safe to use.
