no hb on scan but lots of doppler sounds

Hello ladies i had early scan on thur they saw no heartbeat measured small 4mm told to expect worse we are devestated, rescan in a week... d&c booked for that day,i plucked up courage to use doppler today lots of whoosing bubbling rushing sounds . i hear my own pulse, defo no heartbeat as i was measuring just under 6 weeks,so i dont expect to,

does the placenta keep working even if the baby might have stopped growing? im so confused xx

the placenta doesnt take over till 12wk hun, my guess is ur hearing the sac, how many wks do u think u are? this happened to me, a misses m/c, i went for scan at 11wk and baby only messured 4mm, but the sac still grows, so sorry for wot ur goin thro it is truly awful, if ur only suppose to be 6wk preg then u baby might be fine x

Hi mrsneish, I'm sorry for what you are going through, it must be so awful not knowing

Is your baby very behind on your conception dates?
If not.. (& I don't want to get your hopes up too much, just in case)
I remember when my baby was 4mm they couldn't see a HB, then a week later they could very clearly.
Hope this is the case for you xx

oh ok then i was out about a week with dates, i have no lmp as the last bleed was a early miscarriage, thank you for your response anyway i still expect the worst xx

Our baby was 21 weeks when he died. They tried to find him with a doppler and there were a lot of whooshing sounds and my pulse was going so fast they thought it was his heartbeat.

Hey Ya,

Just read ur message and kinda reminded me of what we went through, sadly at my 1st scan we were told baby had a very weak heartbeat and to expect the worse sadly at my 2nd scan the baby had died so i had a induced miscarriage last thurs and just dealing with it now, In a way try to keep hope that there maybe a miracle as friends told me stories of how at wks they couldnt hear one then nx scan they could im not tryin to get ur hopes up but like me its good in a way wat ur doin preparin jus incase for the worse , so i wish u all the best and ill be thinkin of u, pm me if u ever want to chat.

I think sometimes we need to be aware of what is going on to us or our body so it is be easier to except.
