This may sound a bit random but is there anyone else here who has no sense of smell???

I just learned that it has a medical name (Anosmia) and that I am not the only one!!!

I used to be able to smell up until my late teens and then it just gradually dissapeared.

It is starting to affect my life since having Harry and I'd love to find a cure. My Dr thinks I'm a bit crazy I'm sure!

I can't smell if Harry has pooed. I didn't smell when we had a gas leak and I could've blown me and Harry up! I sometimes get a bit sweaty and smell of BO and i don't even realise!!! So now i'm constantly paranoid that i smell or that Harry has pooed and I didn't realise. My dad died recently and I am really upset that I can't smell his clothes - everyone else says they still smell of him...

Please tell me there is someone else here who is in the same boat!

Sorry I can't be of help :hugs: just wanted to say that my gran has this too

Hi I know this a bit late to respond lol. But I do have this same problem. I have not had a sense of smell for a long time, I can't even pin point when I lost it or if I had it to begin with. I am very paranoid about smelling whether it's hygiene, my house, clothes, bad foods, worried about fires, gas leaks etc. It used to be pretty bad having showers spraying perfume/deodorants so much each day, brushing teeth several times, always eating mints and using mouthwash. I'm quite annoyed and over all the paranoia, I'm constantly asking my family if I smell bad which I'm sure they are sick of hearing by now. I have the same fears about having a baby and not being able to smell when their nappy needs changing. How have you been dealing with this and have you found a cure by any chance?
