No tampons whilst TTC?

I read that you shouldn't use tampons whilst trying to concieve.

I'm on holiday at the moment and have just got my period. I could use tampons just while I'm at the beach (about 2-3 hours a day), or I could avoid them altogether and not go swimming?

What do you think?

Never heard of that. I still use tampons and Softcups while on my period and will continue to do so.

Where did you hear that? Was there a reason why?
