Last night my best mate told me she wasn't keen on the name Ilike for my baby if it is a girl - Nellie!! so in a pregnant hormonal rant I told her I hated the name she gave her daughter 3 months ago - Bailey.

if we were having a little girl i wanted her to be called dakota but her dad didnt like it because he wanted to work briefly in america and made a big deal that if he was in dakota(the city) hed sound somewhat weird saying he was in dakota... thats men for you though... he wanted to call him lok if it was a girl so i had agreed on dakota-lok...

I wouldnt let it put you off, they might not like it but you do and thats all that matters, once the baby is here they will get used to the name and wouldnt be able to imagine baby with a different name xx

Camilla is really pretty! I know a Camilla and she's sometimes shortened to Millie.

I think people might wrinkle their noses because of Camilla Parker-Bowles .. She's not really that liked as a public figure! I don't think it's to do with the name itself! xx

We never tell our names to friends/family, we usually make up something ridiculous to tell people and it shuts them up fast. This time if its a boy we are telling people it will be Oaxaca Lugi (say it fast: Wa-ha-ka loo-gee) and if its a girl Mahana (there's an old movie with a girl named Mahana and her father calls her, "Mahana, you ugly.") I'd rather not hear people's opinions to ruin my favorite names, and once the baby is here and named they are less likely to say they hate it.

I chose this name too it was my number one favourite name! Everyone hates it and it's stopped me choosing it, not because I feel any different about it, I'm still obsessed with it. But I don't want everyone meeting my daughter hating her name.

Camilla is a lovely name! I wouldn't worry about others, everybody HATES my baby name too.

It REALLY annoys me, because they will ask (i've just now started telling people the name,) I'll say "Delaneigh Joe Rhiannon" and they will wrinkle their nose and suggest other names. BLAH!
