Norethisterone Tablets

Hello Ladies,

I have PCOS and my periods is so unpredictable. I have to go for a scan straight afater my periods. As I do not get regular periods the GYN gave me Norethisterone tablets. I have been told to have them for 10 days in which I will not bleed. After the 10 days I will have a normal length period thereafter I can go for my scan.

My question is - Has any one had this tablet before? Does it cause period pain when you stop the tablet? I have had this tablet before and when I did start my period - I had really painful period.

(I very rarely get period pains on normal days)

Hey... I used to be on these and for my period day 1 was awful but... Regulated my cycles . I also took them when i was due to go on holiday. Found more often took less painful or ( i got used to it) my periods were.

Yes very irregular. Never once a month. I had two a month sometimes three. Extremely painfull too. They regulated them within a couple of months xx

I have PCOS too. I took these tablets this summer to prevent my period from arriving whilst we were on holiday! I hated being on it - initially it was ok but by the end of the course of tablets I was bloated, nauseous, crampy etc. Felt like being pregnant

I don't recall my period being particularly painful when it started. I think it took 2-3 days for it to arrive once I stopped the tablets.
