Normal ovulation, normal cycles, what could be wrong?

Barring male factor infertility, why would BDing on and around ovulation every month for 4 months fail? For over a year we relied only on pulling out and we BDed a lot (sorry TMI), and no "accidents" either, and I know that is rare.

My BBTs were normal and within textbook range. I have a normal period. My doctor said she would call if my hormones were "off" but she never called and then I had to cancel with her, so I never got to see my results but I ASSUME she would not forget to call if it was a problem!

What are other causes of infertility for a female? Can a thyroid condition cause it even if your ovulation is normal?

I don't have the answer, but I also find it baffling at how difficult it can be to conceive (especially when everything is timed correctly) and there are no other apparent issues. I do know from researching that on average it can take 6 months to a year to get pregnant.

I know how you are feeling. I have a 28 day cycle, never late, BD often (and add extra near ovulation) and almost 8 months and still nothing :(

They say it can take a healthy couple up to one year of ttc.. as the percentage of conceiving each month is only like 20% . Keep up the baby dancing!

Hmph. :( That's what I thought, lol. But it technically has been a year... pulling out is so ineffective, isn't it? Our one mistake with it and we -did- get pregnant, except it was a chemical. :(

But still. That shows how unpredictable it is! After almost a year, it only took once for it to happen, lol. I just hope nothing is wrong... I also don't understand why it doesn't work sometimes! I guess just genetic reasons? I really don't know! I spent most of my life thinking it was EASY to get pregnant and to stay abstinent, use several methods of birth control, run away from boys because kissing can get you pregnant (lol), etc... But apparently it's not that easy?

:/

On another note, :witch: is due tomorrow... No cramps yet which is odd, but weird stabby feelings and still sore bb's. But I think I'm just starting to get PMS, maybe age related? Who knows.

What do you mean your BBT is "normal" and in "textbook range"..? I'm not sure what you mean by that. If it's been a year I'd go get checked out.. or your partner as it may be him. Hope you figure it out soon :hugs: xx
