I had an ultrasound last week (6 weeks 4/5 days according to LMP) and measured 6 weeks 1 day (3 days behind my LMP). This week, I had another ultrasound exactly 7 days later and measured 6 weeks 6 days. Is it possible to only have 5 days of growth in 7 days? The nurse practitioner did not seem concerned but I am worried about losing more days! She was able to find a strong heartbeat but did not tell me how fast it was. The ultrasound last week was in a high tech perinatal center and this week was in the OB office (both TV ultrasounds). Could the different equiptment make a difference too? I know my doctors aren't concerned but I am so scared as my last pregnancy ended in a loss (blighted ovum). I am nervous about not growing 7 days worth and also about being 5 days or so behind my LMP. I was charting last month to get to know my body better after the loss and it looks like I ovulated on cd15 or 16 (according to Fertility Friend and temps). I guess I am just looking for advice, thoughts, stories (positive or not so positive).

I honestly wouldnt worry. It's only a few days, and there's a huge margin for error in the early days. You have to remember that they are trying to mesure something the size of a grain of rice. The machine used, how full your bladder is, who is scanning you can all effect the measurement of baby. If your doctor isn't worried then there's really no reason for you to be. My daughter and son measured different at every scan, sometimes ahead, sometimes behind, it's perfectly normal :)

Thanks! I'm trying my best not to worry but it is so tough!

does anyone else have experience with this? Or know about this? I need to stop consulting Dr.Google and getting myself in a tizzy.

A matter of days can be this difference of less than a mm in size. I really wouldn't worry, u have a baby with a hb measuring roughly on time xx

I agree. Ultrasounds are not the best for accurate measurements. My baby only measured a day behind my LMP that early. But ultrasounds are subjective. When the sonographers are clicking for measurements even a millimeter of difference could perhaps make the measurements a bit off. That said, I think it's normal to worry given your history. Hang in there, and good luck.
