my LO hasn't demanded much for the last two days. he feeds for only 5-10 mins at a time (every couple of hours) and maybe once or twice a day goes on for a long period of time.

and sometimes he throws/spits a whole load of milk up :(

shall i keep going and wait until he has been weighed at the clinic on thursday or should i be worried now?? (he was 6lbs 9oz at birth and 8lbs 2oz last week)

Thank you in advance! x

Does he seem content? If he isnt crying a lot b/c hes hungry then i'd wait until Thurs. maybe hes just got the hang of getting milk out faster?

He seems content...but I don't know if he is sleepy because he is still only young or if it is because he doesn't have the energy to be awake because he isn't feeding much.

Maybe he has got the hang of getting milk quickly...but I don't know...

also, he is producing lots of dirty and wet nappies.

Hungry babies tend to scream. They muster the energy somehow :|

I wouldn't worry to be honest, just wait til thursday and ask your HV.
As you and your LO get the hang of breastfeeding, the feeds will become quicker as he becomes more efficient at getting the milk he needs.
When you feed does he unlatch himself? Does he refuse the other side when it's offered? I think you are probably just lucky in that your LO is content and if he wasn't happy, you would soon know about it! Don't worry about how sleepy he is, he is still very, very young and will spend the majority of his time sleepy or sleeping with his awake time increasing as the weeks go by.
My LO was producing dirty/wet nappies every couple of hours up until last week, every baby is different but if you are really worried, call your HV. :D

He unlatches himself or falls asleep. Then refuses anymore or falls asleep again.

I wouldn't worry then, if he is unlatching himself then he is getting what he needs. :D You have a happy, full baby....enjoy :hugs:

p.s. I also wouldn't be too concerned about the spit up/sick unless you feel he is bringing up whole feeds and he does it for 2 or more feeds in a row in which case you should contact your HV. :hugs:

Is the weather warmer than usual where your are? I think that makes a difference. :)

yeah, it has been really hot here and he has had a little bit of a fever i think.

Yeah the weather seems to do it - I dont want a big sunday dinner when it's red hot outside so he probably just fancies salad ;)

He has been gaining over 6oz a week going by his weight gain on average hun. That is great, sounds like you don't have cause to worry
