Hi ladies,

I know I'm not officially in the 3rd Tri but thought you guys might have more experience with this query.

My baby is usually very active, rolling and kicking and hiccups, especially in the mornings...but not a peep today! Do you think its ok? At what point do you start to worry? Days? x

I'd give your midwife a ring now, they may advise you to come in today/tomorrow.
I suggest also having a lay down and drink some ice cold water or eat some chocolate and baby should gte moving again soon :)
some babies like to have lazy days, but definitely ring your midwife for more advice :)

If you have felt nothing at all since this morning Id be starting to get concerned too hun. Have you tried lying on your left hand side and having an icy cold drink? Apparently that can get baby wriggling, have you jiggled your tummy at all?

If you have tried those things and not felt much then I would ring maternity ward to get checked out, baby is prob just comfy today but it will ease your mind xx

Hi! I posted this in your second tri thread (I was lurking), but I'll post it here for you too.

I think they usually say you don't need to monitor movements until 28 weeks or so...but honestly, if this is unusual for your baby and you're really worried, I would go get it checked anyway.
I was in for monitoring yesterday because my baby wasn't moving, and they told me they would rather I be there every day for monitoring than ignore the reduced movement.
Hope everything is okay. :hugs:

i went to hospital at 27 weeks as my lil girl had a quiet day, have u tried a glass of ice cold water and lay on ur back without any noise? when you ring the hospital they wil ask you to do this then if no movement after a hour then go to the hospital just to check, as soon as they hooked me up she was wriggling about, sometimes they have quiet days but its best to check hun x

Thanks everyone! Very sweet of you to respond, since posting my original thread I think I've felt some movement but it is lighter than usual so not sure if I'm imagining it!! Will give the cold drink a go and lie in a few different positions. Thanks again x

Lying on my left side usually gets lo moving :)

Also a cold or sugary drink might also do the trick. If you are really concerned I would deffo give your labour ward a ring x x

i had this at 27 weeks movements felt less and lighter turned out my little man was facing my back !! if movements dont pick up though hun do give yr mw a call x

I was monitored at 27 weeks, and when I didn't get movement at 24 weeks I was still sent to the hosp to get his heartbeat looked at. If after an icy drink and lying down nothing you do gets him/her moving definately go get yourself looked at. It will put your mind at rest and I have NEVER been treated like I was wasting anyone's time. Only YOU know your baby, and if something isn't right- go get looked at. x
