Simon is treating this biting thing like a new game.
I tried to speak really firmly with him and put him down when he first started biting me during nursing and it resulted in a 2-day nursing strike. Now he does it and then gives me this look like he's testing me, which of course he is. And I don't want him to stop nursing, so I don't know how to react. I'm really really worried about what to do when he gets his top teeth. What if I have to stop breastfeeding him early? That would break my heart.
He won't nurse at all with the nipple shield.
He gets really upset if I speak firmly to him or pull him away.
I bought him a special teething soother to give him something to gnaw on.
I don't know what else to do.

I wouldn't say no, just simply put him in his cot or something and walk away. He needs to know biting = no milk and no reaction. It'll stop soon, promise! x

I think i just did the same as Toria i just put her down, but she only did it the first day her teeth came through. Also now when she bites (my hand or something :dohh: ) I shout..in pain.. and she bursts into tears cos she got a fright :(

I know my MIL bit one of hers back (not hard) but said that they dont understand that it hurts and said that worked ?

He won't understand 'no' right now, so I would just remove him and put him down. That is what worked for us.
