Not sure the name I love goes with partner's surname?

Hi,

Ok so the name I absolutely LOVE is Lottie. However, my partner's surname is Parkin. We are from the UK so we dont have parking lots but I'm not sure whether it sounds right. Wouldn't want her to be bullied.

:baby: Lottie Parkin :baby:

Opinions please?

Thanks x

I like it and I don't think it's a name that will be picked on, and to be honest, kids can twist any name to make it sound silly or sound like something else if they really want to bully. If you are VERY worried, Charlotte Parkin is also lovely and has a nice sound, and you could use Lottie as a full time nickname, but if you love Lottie, just go for it, it sounds absolutely fine with the surname.

I think it's a lovely name and I can't see why it would be picked on, but I prefer Lottie as a nickname than a first name personally. If I met a Lottie, I'd always assume their name was Charlotte.

I think Lottie is a lovely name. I'm from the UK and don't think it's likely to invite bullying anymore than any other name. I think Lottie is fine on it's own but I also like Charlotte if you are concerned.

I like Lottie as a nick name and Charlotte Parkin sounds gorgeous! Could that be an option? I don't think it sounds silly though.

I had terrible problems with my partners surname when picking my sons name.
We had..
Ethan Rice = eatin' rice
Alec Rice = I like rice
Rowan Rice = just silly
Gregg Rice = egg fried rice

I feel your struggle! 😫

It's ok, much prefer Charlotte with lottie as a nickname though!

What all the others have said- I'd use Charlotte as full name and lottie as a Nn x

Ran into the same issue when I named my son. I called him Asher, but after I changed his last name, he became Asher Noons (Afternoons)

Same reason why I can't do Eden. Eat-In-Noons.

Always the names you love that won't work!

Sounds fine to me! I agree with other ladies though, prefer Charlotte with Lottie as a nickname x
