Not sure what to do!

Jessica has been really good with her feeding so far, she gained 1lb at 1.5 wks old and was weighed yesterday at 2.5 wks old and she has gained another 1lb, midwife has said we need to watch she doesnt gain to much but that she would most probably have a growth spurt soon which would balance it out. She asked how much milk she was taking and how often which is 4oz every 3.5 - 4hrs which she said was fine but then when she left and Jessica was due a feed she took 4oz and then 30 minutes later was sucking her hand and seemed like she was hungry so gave her some more and she ended up taking another 3oz. Now at every feed since she has taken 4oz then literally about an hour later she is draining another 4oz bottle. Im just worried when she gets weighed next week she will have gained lots more. She is on the aptimal easy digest but not sure what i can do so that she is getting enough, feel 8oz in the space of a couple of hours is a bit much but what can i do? Kx

so cute....dont worry...consult to doctor or dietritoner....it happens and may be its normal....

layla is like this. she's on 4oz now every 3.5 to 4hours. but sometimes after 1hr she'll be whining and chewing hands. i dont feed her more though but offer her water. she'll take 1/2 oz - 1 and be happy. or try a dummy (i really didnt want to) but she sucks for few minsthen i take it off her and that seems to satisfy her? hth x

have you tried hungry baby milk? think its aptamil 2

maddi was just the same! she was on aptamil 1, and then the hv started having a good because the first couple of weeks she'd put on too much 'apparently' tbh i was really annoyed because she was doing fine and one min they say feed on demand and the next its, don't feed them too much! we switch maddi to hungry baby at 3 weeks and have never looked back (by aptamil) she has slept through since 6weeks, was weaned at 6months and is still on her hungry baby formula! as a mummy i would say go with what you think, i found maddi to feed a lot when she was younger, and then once she was on the move, they are just so much more active they tend to eat less x x

Well ive tried giving her water and dummy but she just spits both out lol! Think i will speak to health visitor about the hungry baby milk see wot she thinks coz ive only just changed her to the aptimal easy digest because of her constipation so dont really wanna change it so soon, would it do any harm? But seems like the best route me thinks coz she just seems hungry all the time! Thanks girls Kx
