Hi, sorry if I'm posting in wrong section not sure where to post. I did post in the ttc discussions but no joy.
I had a stillborn daughter at 36 weeks pregnant due to placenta abruption in July. Ever since I've been havin unexplained left sided pain. I then got pregnant but had a mmc in feb at 10 weeks. Pain went when I was pregnant but obviously now I'm not it's come back. My consultant has decided to do laparoscopy which is booked in for 4th may. I've had one of these 7 years ago but can't remember much about recovery etc. I'm really worried about havin this done, scared on what they are going to find too. Has anyone had one of these, what was the outcome?, where u in pain? How long did it take for you too heal? I'm so anxious about this. Any advice/ info would be helpful. Thank you xxx

Hi! actually I had one done on march 30th w/hysteroscopy and blue dye. I was in at noon and out the hospital at 4pm. It sting and I was sore for a few days, but the day after I could walk and eat and laugh and do all things except my energy level was a bit low. The first few days I was more sensitive in that area and needing to rest. I had 2 weekd off and by the 2nd one I was ready to go back to work no problem. I stressed for a WHOLE month prior (sleep problems and all) and having known what I know now I def would have taken it more easy. It will be fine and even probably give you mental peace knowing what might keep you from that LO. Good luck!!!!!

Hmmmm usually all is needed is one lap. Did they find endo then?

I had one at the end of Jan before Af actually. It wasn't too bad, I woke up feeling nauseated from being put under and my belly ached. I was in recovery for 3 hours, had some slight bleeding but they said that was normal. DH took me home around 5 and I was able to get food down and slept the rest of the night. I has pretty achey for the first 4-5 days.

Usual healing time is 2 weeks.

Thanks for your replys. I'm so scared I've been through so much I should be tougher than this. The 1st lap I had 7 years ago was because I had pelvic pain too but that was a different type of pain, and in different place, they didn't find anything.just wanted to hear other people's experience and what the outcome was. Xxx

I had one earlier this month. I had my period which was a pain but didn't effect anything except to make me unnecessarily embarrassed. I was obviously groggy initially after the surgery but weirdly I liked the general anaesthetic.. I felt so warm and dreamy... the worst part was definitely the chest and shoulder pain from the gas, I felt very full and sometimes like I couldn't inhale properly like my chest was weighted or something, it lasted for three days after. Anyway it was over quickly I had no pain at the sight or anything... Good luck!
