I've had 4 chemical pregnancies and my daughter was still born at 38 weeks.
Dh and I have had genetic testing which was surprisingly ok.
We have an appointment next week at our request at the hospital. We are going to ask for a sperm analysis, but what tests would I need.
I need expert advice and to be honest, the experts are on here :haha:
I don't want anything to be missed.

 it really is like pulling teeth in this forum sometimes

My RE and OB had me get the following lab tests done: FSH/LH, progesterone, TSH, HIV Hep B, CF mutation, CBC w/ diff, estradiol, prolactin, rubella, rapid plasma reagin, GC-Chlamydia, testosterone, dehydroepiandosterone, 17-hydroxyprogesterone, and mullerian inhibiting substance. I also had a urinalysis and an HSG done. Hope that helps! Good luck!

Definitely have the bloodwork done for clotting issues. I believe it is a type of genetic test. It can cause clots in the placenta and problems with implantation. That would explain the late loss and the chemicals. If you are getting pregnant, then it probably isn't a sperm or fallopian tube issue.

Thanks pop chick my daughter had t18 so that's why we had the genetic testing, but the rest of the losses were so early, I'll never know. I'm scared I'm just full of rotten eggs.
Feeling so daunted by the appointment.

I agree it doesn't sound like a sperm issue.

The normal testing is bloodwork to check ovulation, hormone levels, and to rule out diseases. Then a ultrasound scan for PCOS.., dye inserted in your tubes to make sure they're open and a lap (surgical) to check for endo.

I know they can't tell much if anything from the chemicals, but have they gotten back to you on what could've caused the stillborn?

Keep in mind, a lot of us on here have yet to get our first :bfp: and don't have much experience when it comes to losses. I'd also try posting this in the loss section if they can offer advice as well.

Thank you. My daughter had t18 which was the cause of the still birth.
Both dh and myself have had genetic blood work done which was ok.
Thanks for the advice on trying the loss section, i just thought that ladies here would have had investigations etc I'm jus daunted and don't know what to expect, your advice has helped me understand better.

I can agree with this, I did read your post earlier and as much as I would love to be able to give you some advice, I've never experienced a pregnancy so I'm not sure where you would go from here.

What I will say though is that I am so sorry to hear of your losses, you must be an amazingly strong woman, and I have all the admiration for you in the world :flower:

I'd go with what other ladies have suggested and request as much as you can, full blood work, thyroid testing, progesterone levels, HSG, ultra sounds, maybe even a lap to check for endo? All they can do is start ruling stuff out

Wish you oodles of luck and keep us updated :hugs:

Have you had the AMH (anti-mullerian hormone) blood test done yet? It can tell you what your egg reserve is like. It is *much* more accurate than just having an antral follicle count done by ultrasound. If anything, it will at least give you an idea of timeline and how aggressive you need to be.

Ask if they included testing for MTHFR in the genetic testing? It's sort of hard to explain, but that was the clotting issue I was referring to. There is some great information out there if you Google it. I have been going through treatments for 9+ years now, and this is the first doctor I've had that even mentioned it...and it turns out I have it! It's usually not included in the general genetic testing they do....definitely worth looking into!

Just to let you know, appointment was today.
They have taken bloods to check For clotting issues and have refused to do any other investigations so far as the consultant had no concerns due to chemical pregnancies being so common and believes the t18 was just a total one off.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice :flower: :flower: :flower:
