Just had my letter through and it says Im low risk for DS! 1:7600

Is 1:7600 about right? I always thought low risk was like 1:10000 or something like that!

Just a bit of lovely news, and only waited a week for results!

It's very individual so you should avoid comparing. If that was high risk they would tell you and offer you follow on testing. So your result is right for you and your age and blood markers.

ahh lovely, I didnt know that is was so tailored. Thought it was the same for everyone so thankyou :)

You're classed as low risk :) to be higher risk the risk has to be higher than something like 1:150 :) my risk was 1:10000 and I thought that was quite high after seeing other people's being like 1:60000, especially since I'm only 21. There's always something to worry about but we are classed as low risk :) x

Yes Im also 21 so thought the risk would be 1:10000! Im just happy it stated I was low risk, not that it would have changed anything :)

I was expecting to get the results of something like 1:10,000 but got back 1:100,000! But to be perfectly honest the numbers didn't mean to much to me, getting told I was low risk was all I cared about. At the end of the day, being told your low risk is everything, a lot more than numbers.

mine was 1:200 and im still classed as low risk...I am 42 tho :haha: nt was only 1.2mm

I think some places do it differently.
My first test came back as 1:9000 and then my second blood draw at 16 weeks came back as 1:250,000

Yeah 1.2mm is very low. I was told it ranges from 1.0mm-4.0mm with everything in between so 1.2mm is a good number :)

That's great! Did they also test it via thickness of the neck?

Your letter said low risk, right? If so, then the numbers are fine. I'm sure you'd have had a ring from a doctor if they weren't.

The measurement for me was 1.8.. the midwife said that was a very good number (although I thought it was quite high!) combined with bloods I've come back at low risk at something like 1:1700 xxx

Yeah, I had 1.9 and 1:1600 and after seeing the posts on here talked to my doctor freaking out. She looked at me like I was crazy and said those were great numbers.

I said, "Yeah well, I keep seeing 1:10,000..." and she pointed out that 1:10,000 was the equivalent of a 0.01% chance of DS, and 1:1600 is 0.06% chance, and was I really going to quibble over the difference of 0.05% of a chance?

Made sense to me.

That's fantastic news, congrats

Wow mine I very low compared to yours at 1:640 :(

Apparently they're individual to you, so if you were told low risk, your numbers don't matter :) (I never knew this)

Im sure alls fine hun, we're always worrying about something arn't we :( ha xx

would be low risk. mine was 1:75000 but that is v low and certainly not the average

At the end of the day someone has to be the 1, I know people who were given 1 in thousands and still had ds. But there's worse things in the world than ds
