number of follicles for IUI

I am going in tomorrow for my second IUI. Last month we did clomid and then the trigger and then IUI and it didn't work. I had only one follicle and my doctor said the lining was possibly to thin.This month my doctor put me on letrozole (which is the same as femara, I think?) and we did the trigger again. I am curious though because I went in Monday morning for my ultrasound and the ultrasound tech told me I had 3 mature follicles and one that was to small, but when I talked to the nurse today she said I only had one mature, and one that probably would be mature by tomorrow. We are paying out of pocket for the treatment, and I just wonder what is normal in terms of number of follicles. Anyone have any thoughts??? Thanks!!!

I did Letrozle several times and almost always had 2 follies a few times 3 w a smaller one!!

Now that being said I got my BFP the 1st cycle back on meds after a 3mo break w 2 lrg follies on the right and several Small on the left!!
Well wouldn't u know my Corpus is on the left so Miracles happen every Day!! GL

Last month i was on 50mg Clomid, I had 4 follicles. 2on the right at 16mm at CD 12, and then 2 on the left,one at 20 and one at 18. However my left side is closed... so we had a failed IUI. This month i have 2 right follicles at 19mm atCD12 and two small ones on the left, 12mm or so. Anything above 16 is considered viable to become mature and released,CAN be, not will be. Most women on Clomid do develop follicles on both ovaries, but that doesn't mean both sides will release. Does that make sense ?

One is all thats necessary !

My nurse said that since I triggered with Ovidrel, that the mature follicles should all release. But they might not all have viable eggs. So anyway I am just waiting with my fingers crossed now!

I did IUI with Follistim and Menopur and had between 3-6 follicles.
