Nursery Set ups - Share you pics!!

35 weeks is very late for most people, the baby might make an appearance within weeks. I think it is a little mean to put that kind of a dampener on other people's excitement...what was the point?

We're going to start over the Easter hols I think. Otherwise we won't have time, there will only be half term (teachers) and I will be huge by then and we'll have other things to do. We're not repainting, but will sort furniture, storage etc I expect...just the bulk of the 'bigger' stuff so that all is left is fiddling and sorting and filling. Our weekends are so busy normally that it is important to us to make the most of our time.

lovely nurseries ladies x

because of the lack of BandB this weekend i found some motivation to get the painting done. I read somewhere it should be done at least 3months in advance in order to air the room. We havent ordered our furniture yet as we are away over easter so will have it delivered after that. Im so excited to get everything set up. pleased with the paint job so wanted to share.

not to be a party pooper here but how come people are decorating nurseries so early? painting... hmmm, maybe. furnishing it and having full wardrobes??? altho very cute, waaaay too early

why do you think it's too early?

well it is... i mean i wouldnt like to jinx things... thats just my way of thinking tho. not to be negative but anything could happen. i got nothing for my son until i was 35 weeks and i had the exact same thinking then too. that just me tho. :dohh:

I'm definitely not superstitious- I have a few friends who asked me why I am ready so early but TBH I just ignored it - I have the energy and enthusiasm to do it all now. I've actually WASHED all our little one's clothes! I suppose it depends what you're like normally. I am ultra-organized, my job also depends on having that skill. So I have been planning and thinking about every possibility since Day 1.
I think if something bad happened at this stage, I would be upset anyway, doesn't matter if the nursery is finished or not. i.e. seeing all of her clothes and everything wouldn't upset me more than if I just pretended like nothing was happening till 35 weeks.

Oh wow ladies! Your nursery pics are beautiful.

Well we haven't started on the walls yet (using Wall Decore Art) but we have got most of the furniture in, so I can show you our progress so far.

Loving all the nurserys, I wish I could get to do it too. Baby will be in our room because we have a one bed flat, but I deffo will do a nice room when we get to move in the future. Keep up the good work ladies!!!!

35 weeks is pretty late to get started. I could barely walk...and there was no way I would be doing any shopping. Plus, I gave birth at 37 weeks. I am going to be setting up as soon as I find out the baby's sex. I have almost everything stored away from my previous two children...just need to figure out if I need to get the boy stuff or girl stuff out.

Because we want to? No reason that we have to wait. Each to their own . I am finishing work early, and will not be getting paid maternity leave...So why wait until we don't have the second income to start preparing?

All the nurseries look great! I had thought hubs and me were getting a head start by ordering our furniture this weekend..but I guess not. The stuff we ordered is taking 10-12 weeks to be delivered... which puts delivery right at the time of my sisters wedding...

anyways here is what I ordered..

Lovely nursery pics ladies. I know I'm only 13wks but all being well we should be starting ours begining of April, reason being we have to decorate our sons new bedroom so thought we may aswell get them both done, this LO will also be going into DS old room so the furniture is in there already (his new room has built in wardrobe) and the cot will only be down for a matter of weeks before it has to go back up xx

All looking lovely ladies, we're waiting for some building work to be done before we can start on baby's room though... can't wait!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, ProudMum's post just happens to be an opinion you don't agree with... let's leave it...

I haven't bought much. I really want to get buying now and get my nursery sorted. However until my brother in law moves his sofa's from our living room that we're storing for him, my gerbils and the pc can't get moved out of the spare room and into the living room.

Lovely rooms ladies!!! We plan to start decorating just shortly, I def don't want to be running around at the last minute and feel a lot happier getting things organised now. We have decided to paint the walls light blue and decorate with the Mothercare 'please look after me' range! So cute!! We have ordered our pram, got a car seat, loads of nappies, talc etc and LOADS of clothes. I went mad at the weekend!! Oops!! Got loads of baby grows/sleepsuits for the 1st wee while and proper clothes in 3-6 month sizes. Soooooo excited xx

Ney Ney your nursery is gorgeous!

Df has sanded all the floor (it took him two full days) in the nursery. We're clear varnishing it. We've got pine drawers which are bulging and have ordered the cot, pushchair to arrive in August.

Painting the walls cream and will be putting stickers on the wall once we know if its a boy or girl!

We have beige winnie the pooh curtains with red stitching.

:)

wow ladies all the rooms are beautiful.

Youve all put me to shame im 33wks on Wednesday and havnt even started mine yet, although weve just had the room full re-plasited so been waiting for that to be finished and dry :) xx

I honestly can't wait to get started on the nursery. I'm moving house in a few weeks, but have all the furniture picked out that I want, just need to purchase. I'm going to start with painting and go from there.

I've been looking at themes, and wanted to see what you all think of these two.

I like the idea of 2-toned walls but love the dark blue and brown bedding!!!

Well If I had of waited till 35wks with my other pregnancies my baby wouldn't have anything sorted as I gave birth at 37wks.

Some of us have already had kids so we already had alot of stuff, some of us are 1st time mums and just super excited and some of us are like me and expecting twins so we need to start NOW as we have to buy double of everything and not to mention the fact we could go early and will be super big and possibly even on bed rest towards the end.

I don't believe in Jinxing the pregnancy, what will be will be and it doesn't come down to whether I bought a cot at 20wks or one at 30wks, women have lost babies from SIDS, StillBirths etc and I don't believe this happened to them because they started their nursery before 35wks.

I love what everyone has done so far ladies, it all looks fantastic, I have nearly finished off Michaels cot and when I have I will post pics. I have made the cots up already as I wanted to see how it all went together, i figured even though I had washed it all and packed it away I would still end up washing it again:dohh:, so this way I get to walk in and look it all.

Lovely nurseries everyone,:cloud9:

I just want to say we started buying things for our baby at 12 weeks...and the nursery has just been completed. In my opinion, I wish I had finished the nursery earlier as I am now big, fat and uncomfortable. I have had to rely on my fiance to do loads of the nice little bits as I cant stand for very long. I say start your nurseries when you want. My pram has been up since about 26 weeks.. I do think it was a bit unfair to ask why people are doing there nurseries so early AFTER they have uploaded there pics..talk about putting a dampner on people's excitement!
