Has anyone been prescribed it for their LO? I was told 1ml 4times a day after feeds and it was to be rubbed on his gums. Am I meant to use the full 1ml or just enough to coat his mouth? Is it okay if LO swallows some? Sorry for the stupid questions but I've never done this before!:flower:

Absolutely fine if they swallow it. Use the whole 1ml. I tended to squirt it in LO's mouth then pop my finger it to rub it around his tongue and cheeks which was where his thrush was and he'd swallow the rest.

Its fine if LO swallows it and yep, use the full amount (or at least that's what we were told). Don't forget to treat you nipples if you're breastfeeding; the doctor forgot to tell me and I didn't think of it even though it was obvious once our GP mentioned it.

Ditto all of the above, my newborn had it for a month but then it just vanished. Have a muzz ready though, DS spat it out everywhere and it's sticky manky stuff.

My son had it up until he was 4 months. Nystatin never worked for us and he would scream everytime I had to give him it. We ended up with the gel and I went pretty much overnight.
Also if you're using infacol, the dropper out of the infacol bottle fits nicely onto the nystatin bottle and is so much easier than cleaning the spoon constantly!

I usually used a dropper and then pooped a soother in right after, the sucking motion would help her swish it around.

Try and get thrush cream for the diaper area too. We were told we didn't need it, but then it passed from the mouth and then to the diaper area (I was told later that mouth thrush is swallowed, so when they pee the thrush infects there) so you may need the cream too :)

Thanks ladies!

Babycleo I would keep an eye on the nappy area never thought of that happening!x
