Just noticed an advert at the top of the forum for Mooncups - anyone else think they are a bizarre and revolting idea?

its a great idea they have many benefits, you should be some research :-)

My friend uses one and thinks its great as she has very heavy periods and was going through a ton of tampons every month.
I would imagine that it's the sort of thing that once your used to using you'd never turn back.

I use one and they are great!!

Mst admit I thought it might be a bit revolting but its nothing compared to a skanky tampon or sanitary towel...

And they are good on environment.

I have used mine for near two years and wouldnt go back to tampons if you paid me ever!!!

They are fab, much less scummy than a tampon or towel!!!!

They are the way forward!

good post I have been meaning to ask if anyone uses them and if they are any good. I read up on them and it seems a good idea

i was about to buy one myself, then fell PG, but i think i will definitely get one in the future. After reading up on them they sound great!

I would be scared of it coming out I think - I will have a read up on them though, maybe would be ok, just seems weird!

I would like to say that I use one, supporting the environment etc, but they just freak me out.

Just read all the info on the site, they still sound scary to me, I would be worried about a few things:
a) seeing my blood in large amounts (would remind me of my m/c I think)
b) getting blood on me/the loo/the floor as I am VERY clumsy!
c) Getting it stuck
d) Leakage

I do agree that they are much better for the environment - I hate the idea of tampons ending up in the sea - gross! but I just don't know if I could give it a go !

I've never tried one, but my friend that does says that you twist something and it uses suction and creates a seal, then you twist it the other way when you want to take it out.

:rofl:sorry that just made me  That is another thing to worry about then what if the suction is too strong

:haha: OMG That sound awful!!! It doesn't like a great way to convince ppl to buy them!!
