OBGYN appt tomorrow...nervous!!

Well I have my regular yearly obgyn appt tomorrow, so obviously I'm going to talk to her about TTC...and I'm kind of nervous to hear what she has to say. I went off bcp in October and my cycles have been long and irregular since then, with the last one being 68 days. I hope she can give me some answers, and she does not tell me to come back after it's been a year! But at the same time, I'm also nervous to hear what her "answers" may be.

Hey lisa! i went off BCP in october as well, and got first AF in jan and then spotting in march, and when i went to my GP they sent me for blood work and ultrasound, and then i was diagnosed with PCOS and was refereed to a fertility specialist. where i continue to get some more testing and then they will start treatment! they should at least send you for some blood work. i wasn't sad when i heard i had PCOS though because i saw some girls on here who said they had it and i looked it up and i had a few of the symptoms and read all about it and knew i could still become pregnant!. i hope they do something for you! its veryyyy frustrating with irregular AF, GOOD LUCK!

Thank you for your reply. Yes I'm hoping to at least get sent for bloodwork, I actually have this week off so it will be a good time to go get that done. Have you only gotten AF in Jan and the spotting in March? I've had 5 cycles since Oct, but they're obviously been long. I'm kind of wondering if it means I'm not ovulating? Who knows!! So, where are you at now since seeing the fertility specialist? Good luck to you too.

Yeah only those 2 times, i say one and a half though! haha my fertility specialist said that if you arent regular than thats not normal, he said if some girl says she has a cycle lasting 40 days, but its always 40 days thats still not normal, not sure if you Ov, you might have, i only think i have 1 time since october but not too sure! maybe lt them know that this week you have off and would be a good week to get any necessary testing done! for me though he made me do a blood test for pregnancy and wants me to start taking meds to bring on AF, then on CD1-4 i have to go in for ultrasound and blood work, and then CD-2-3 i have to get a tube test, then CD10 until i ovulate i have to go in everyday for ultrasound and blood work, it was very overwhelming, because i have to take some time from work off, couple hours here and there, i havent started the medication yet, i will start on thursday i cant afford to take any time this week off, so i hope my boss doesnt get to mad next week lol let me know how it goes though!! its nice to have someone to talk to who is going through similar things aswell!!! maybe msg me when you find out!! and we can go through our experience together! he also said though that once treament is started that getting pregnant should be quick! so i have that to look forward too!!

OMG you'll have to go in every day for bloodwork and ultrasound?? That's crazy!! Reading all that just overwhelmed me, I can't believe how you must be feeling. But the important thing is that it means things are headed in the right direction for you. Your is right around the corner. I will definitely update you tomorrow after my appt. yeah im not looking forward to it, but i know it will get me what i want most right now!!! good luck though! i hope they give you the answers your looking for!!! i will be checking tomorrow to see how it goes for you!! i constantly check when im at work to see if i get a msg or someone write back to a post haha!

Hi there!! Wanted to update you on my appt...my doctor is getting things moving, woohoo!

She ordered bloodwork, to be done on July 14th which will be cd21. I told her it most likely won't show ovulation by then, but she wanted that day anyway, haha. So it will be checking for ovulation and other hormone levels. She checked off a bunch of stuff on the requisition sheet - like LH, FSH, and others I haven't heard of, so obviously I'm going to Google all those in a few minutes.

She also told me to start temping. Ugh, I didn't want to do that because it will be just one more thing to stress me out and obsess over!! But, I will do what they want me to do! Then she made me an appt in September, to go over my charting so far, and all that. I usually see the nurse practitioner, but my appt in Sept will be with the doctor. Bustin' out the big guns!

She also gave me an order for a SA for my hubby...complete with specimin jar. She said we didn't need to do it yet if we didn't want to, but she'd give me all the necessary paperwork for whenever we are ready. We'll see what my hubby has to say about it when he gets home tonight. I sent him a text message with the picture saying, "Look what I've got for you!"

hey i came off the pill oct 2009 and started actively trying for nearly a year now, i had my appointment today and the lady just told me i have to go for 3 lots of blood tests on cycle day 21 for the next 3 months, and go for an ultra sound to see if anything is blocked etc and hubby has to have a sperm test, i was so nervous waiting and when your in there your fine,

i had very irrregular peroids too, i missed a month out inbetween each peroid i had xx

and she said if you try and lose a bit fo weight even the slightest change can help your peroids x

So when is your day 21?? Mine's July 14th. Looks like we're in for some of the same fun, haha!

well because my peroids are long i have my blood on day 26 or 27 but i will be going on 14th july hahah x

so they told us the same but she didnt tell me to chart, i dont want to do it anyway,
and i was worrying about having an internal but guess they do that in sept maybe,dont even have to do it, coz they have the ultra sound x

That's good that they are getting things going!! And they gave my DH the same thing he was a little freaked out lol but he is ok now!

They are never going to be looked at internall, no 1 has to look at there body, and they do there sample at home, it says you have to obstain for sex for 3 days before they do it so it's the biggest count it will be x

Yeah, we were both surprised (and incredibly relieved) that he collects the sample at home then brings it in. I guess we've seen too many movies where the guy has to go into a creepy room and collect the sample!
