Ok so i was due to be back after mat leave beginning of december but have had problems with my tummy since having jessica so have been off sick since then, ive been diagnosed with ibs and possibly celiacs (sp) so im getting treatment but its very trial and error. My work have sent me a letter stating that they want me to go c an occupational therapist to determine if im fit for work, im at a point just now where some days im fine and feel bloated but other than that ok then other days im either in agony or running to the bathroom and atm dont feel i could even do the journey to work on my own as my confidence has taken such a knock and im having anxiety prblems and leaving the house is becoming an issue. So my question is, what happens if i cant go? Im just worried they r gonni sack me, was really feeling like i was turning a corner then today im just all over the place because of this letter:cry: Kx

The purpose of an occupational health appointment is to give impartial advice to both the employee and employer regarding fitness for work. They may be able to suggest adjustments to get you back to work.

If you don't go, they will make decisions based on the information they have and this could be to your detriment, as OH tend to be more supportive to you. They won't disclose any personal information to your employer, but they should be able to tell your employer if and when you are well enough to return to work.

Good luck.
