But not without saying goodbye first!
How is everyone!? I had Hallie on her due date September 3rd at 5:22p!
I went to bed that Friday night having decently bad pains but was tired of thinking "Is this it?" so I just went to bed, lol.
I woke up at 7am and was like "Oh hey that kinda really hurt!" and went to the bathroom and was spotting quite a bit. Two and a half minutes later and the pain came back. I finally called my OB at 8am and she was like "Yeaaah you should probably go in." So we finally got the hospital around 9a (we weren't fully prepared) and my contractions were coming every two minutes and were already at the top of the chart!
I was 3cm at 9:30 and at 12:00 I was 6cm and was BEGGING for the epidural. The pain was all in my back and I couldn't even think with it.. but really it was actually better than I thought it would be. It just felt like the worst period cramps ever. Anyhooot! The next time I was checked I was 8cm.. and a little later, 9 cm and my water still hadn't broken. So I think around 4:30 my OB came in and broke my water, and turns out there was meconium in fluid. They basically said it's common but they weren't going to stimulate the baby if she wasn't crying because they didn't want her to ingest any of it? They called a NICU nurse just in case... and pretty much right away I got to 10cm and they said I could "try pushing" if I wanted, or wait if the pressure in my bum wasn't bad enough yet. Welllll guess what I wanted this baby OUT so I started pushing and the nurse, my Mom, and OH were in there coaching me through. My doctor called the nurse and told her to have me "take it slow" because the NICU nurse was tied up. But I just COULDN'T and my body just kept pushing and pushing. Honestly the pushing is the MOST relieving feeling.
They asked if I wanted a mirror and I said yes, because I thought they meant like, a handheld one. OH NO. They brought in a full length body mirror and I watched it ALL. When Hallie was crowning there was a tuft of hair and a little patch of head sticking out LOL. Honestly though, WATCHING her crown made pushing SO much easier because I could really work with my body.
After 42 minutes of pushing my little lady was born at 5:22p weighing 7 lb5 oz and 20in long. No the NICU nurse didn't make it, but the meconium wasn't problematic in the end and Hallie is seriously perfect. When we left the hospital she was 6 lb 11 oz and today at her 2 week she was 7 lb 10 oz ... she is a breastfeeding PRO.
Honestly my labor was SO textbook and easy.. I can't get over it.
And I can't believe I ever thought I wouldn't love her. It physicallly hurts to look at her she's just THAT awesome.
I hope to see you all in there soon! And try not to rush being prego! You WILL miss it, I promise.
