That moment when you realize your new baby might be as crappy of a sleeper as your first baby....:dohh:

I thought I was doing everything right this time - I put her down drowsy but awake for every nap and bedtime, and she happily drifts off on her own - white noise, black out curtains, routine from day one - I thought for sure this baby would be a better sleeper than her brother who gave me 18 months of up-all-nights. But as her sleeps gets progressively worse every night, I think I've got another one! What am I doing wrong?! More importantly - what did I do wrong in a past life to deserve this?:winkwink:

I don't know for sure but I would guess you and I both were probably mass murderers in our past lives. :coffee:

You have my sympathies. Our 1st was an awful sleeper. At first I tried doing everything right but eventually admitted she was just a bad sleeper. By the time #2 came along I didnt hold out much hope so didnt bother much about routine or trying to get him to sleep in his cot etc. The 1st weeks he mostly slept in the sling or in bed with me. He has turned out to be a great sleeper! He still wakes at night for feeds but is easy to get down again and not too hard to get down at night and for naps. He loves his routine. Our 2.5 year old is another story, she still has us up half the night fairly often! Expecting #3 and praying this one is not going to take after big sister's sleep habits.

I'm convinced it's luck of the draw far more than anything we do or don't do. My three couldn't be more different from one another in how they were as little babies despite me treating them the same lol. The older two particularly polar opposites but the difficult one became a good sleeper at a year when I cut the comfort nursing at night and he sttn from that point on, bliss. Lo now is still in training lol!
