Ok so admittidly hes not really been feeling my tummy much, but he still hasnt felt baby kick from outside, although iv only felt baby kick a few times from the outside, I keep worrying because im 26 weeks and feel like im behind everyone, babys still kicking me quite low so im guessing this is why. Midwife said at my 25 week app that baby will move up soon(ish) and that id prob feel it more then. Now oh is taking more interest in bump, feel bad for him not being able too feel anything coz he says it doesnt feel as real for him. xx

Hi
I am also 25 weeks and only have low kicks that OH cant feel either.I have a low lying placenta though and knew that would be the case as I have only just started to feel kicks myself.

I wouldnt worry as long as you are still feeling movement and kicks x

Thank u, its awful I havnt been told I have a low lying placenta or anything, would this of been picked up on scans etc? Just suppose we cant help but worry xx

Have a look in your green notes and it will say where your placenta is lying. Its on a sitcker that they put in after your 20 week scan.

I have an anterior placenta, so at the front so i only rarely feel the baby and only low down.

They didn't tell me either, it was only cause i read it off my notes i realised. I think anywhere the placenta is lying is classed as "nornal" so i don't think they mention it.

It put my mind at rest as i thought i was behind everyonbe else too!

I think I'l check my notes. I don't think I've felt our LO myself yet!x

Ok on my sheet from my 20 week scan itts says placenta site is anterior ? guess il google it cant find much else in my note folder etc

Anterior means your placenta is at the front hun which can block you from feeling him as much and maybe only later when the movements are stronger!!

Everyone keeps saying it'll get to the point where you want a break from the moving when baby's bigger so I wouldnt worry!

Same as me, that means your placenta is at the front so all of babys kicks etc are being cushioned by the placenta.

Therefore you dont feel them until the baby is strong enough to kick harder.

Thanks guys, just reading up about it now, how come they dont tell u when they scan u? will have a chat with midwife wen i see her 2 weeks tomoro for my home visit. xx

They don't tell you cause its not really an issue for them. Its classed as normal.

I think the only problem would be if your placenta was low lying, but even then they usually move up.

I think its just in your notes incase you need a cesarean so they dont cut through it i suppose. And i think there could be a risk if you have already had a cesarean but dont quote me on that.

It is annoying though, i would love to feel a big kick just to know its ok in there!!

Thank u, I know its not much too worry about, just would be nice too feel them big kicks, does this mean we will as baby starts to get really strong and kicks harder?x
