We agreed when he was out of work that we'd spend around £50 each on each other as money was tight.

He starts a new job tomorrow, so we have 3 months of both of us on full income before I go onto maternity pay. This is obviously going to be our last christmas with it being just the two of us and I know he REALLY wants an iPod touch. The cheapest I can find one though is £150.

I don't know whether to just get it for him anyway? Or stick to the budget we set, but then I have no clue what to get him.

Also, does anyone know of anywhere that has the iPod touch on offer? :flower:

xx

I would try and stick to the budget, just purely because I'd be scared of making him feel bad if he had only spent £50 on me and that's not what Christmas is about.

I can only think of one thing I want from him and it's £12, if that was all I got i'd be happy, although I see what you mean :) xx

if you can afford it I'd get it for him. Next Christmas will be all about baby!

I would get it if you have the money hun as when baba arrives all your pennies will be spent on them, he will love it :)

I would mention the budget again and see if he wants to hire it he may be happy to keep it as it is even though his earning more. If he does than get it and if not then depends on how nice his being to you if you decide to treat him :)

try ebay, you may get a new 1 cheaply.

I'd get it for him personally. Love to see his face!!

I was in the same position. We said we'd spend £100 but im getting him a ps3 at £250. I don't want much so aslong as I get what I really want I don't mind spending the extra cash on him

I would get it too. Also it is £150 in comet but that comes with free speaker thingy worth £49.99

Get it! My OH thinks that the North Face winter coat that he wants so bad is too expensive.. it was $329 at the store and I said NO WAY... He clearly knows not to expect it for Christmas.. but I got a really good deal on one and he is getting it. The best part is that he has NO idea !! He'll defo be so excited and I'd definately want to do something special for your last Christmas before the baby if you can afford it. It's one of the few times you can spoil him and afford it before then!

I would chat with him about the budget again first. I went over one year and the OH was a little hurt as he wanted to spend more on me but didn't because he thought I would be cross...blah. It wasn't a big row or anything, but I think he stopped trusting me about budgets!

I tried to bring it up last night but he was watching tv so I think it went in one ear and out the other  xx

I agree with the others I'd get it! All your money will be going on the LO next christmas! We always set a budget but we have yet to stick to it!!

Dunno whether I would get it hun, if it was the other way round and we had set a budget and I spent £50 and OH spen £150 I would feel really awful all xmas day!! See if he wants to raise the amount!! Explain you have seem something and as you won't have as much next year that maybe you should both have a treat this year and spend £150!!
