I knew it. Although now Im more confused than ever.

Went to the GP this eve to explain about missing period, and feeling sick from beginning of Nov with about a 2 week break around last AF. Different to the one I usually see as she had cancellation and was looking at next week for an appointment, want to clear this up before Christmas.

I went in and told her I had been diagnosed with PCOS, had a refderral to the hospital, that I dont know if I ovulated this month, if I did Im late, symptoms and 2 very faint BFPs on asda tests, 2 BFN FRER, 1BFN clearblue digi. CD1 6th nov, currently CD 37 making this my second longest cycle since I had Seth.

She read a letter from Dr at hospital which basically said I was wasting his time being there, my hormone levels are fine and theres no problems. She looked at blood tests I had done in April which said my LH level was slightly high (the Dr who diagnosed me told me a different hormone that was high) but that could coincide with ovulating. This was 24th April, didn't get AF til 6th June!!!

She says she thinks Im pregnant and to drop a sample off in the morning because they'll be able to see HCG levels rather than a blue line apparently, she doesnt think I have PCOS and if im not PG I need to get an opinion from elsewhere.

Just dont know what to think :( I just want this to be over by Christmas so I know either way :( x

I dont know what I expect anyone to say about this, it sounds like such a mess, but any advice at all is hugely appreciated. If I am pregnant Im concerned why Im not getting any stronger lines

x

Any chance you could book yourself in for a private ultrasound hun??

Hiya hun

ultrasound for PCOS? I had ione back in June when I was originally diagnosed, there are cycts there quite a lot and some large ones too (apparently) but as far as Im aware you can have cysts without having PCOS? x

Hi Lizi, when did you get those positive tests on asda? Was it recently? Are those very sensitive? If they are they could be picking up HCG before the others? Anyhow, I wish you luck and some answers soon.

I hope this is it for you hunni. i really do i have everything crossed for you x x x

Thanks Claire :hugs:

Dee, it was Sunday afternoon and monday morning, so faint though. The BFn was on Thursday on a FRER and today I got a BFN on a clearblue digi, which Id image to be more sensitive to an asda one considering they're 3 times the price

x

Clearblue digis are def less sensitive than asda! That's what I read any way! Hope this gets cleared up soon for you it must be horrible not knowing! X

Oh my, how confusing for you. :hugs2: Did you not have a scan to determine PCOS hun?

If you dont have PCOS then I think your just one of those ladys who have messed up cycles....I know it doesnt help...but 37 days isnt too long babe.

I do however think you are preg if you have faint lines on the FRER. The CB's are shit tbh and need alot of HCG to pick up on...x x x

:hugs: hope you get some answers soon honey, certainly doesn't sound like pcos honey, thinking of you xx

Digital tests are not the most sensitive ones, and the FRER might have been too early. Good Luck to you!!!!!

Some ovarian cysts can secrete small amounts of hcg, and they arnt connected to PCOS at all. Given that you have them I would be looking down this track for some further investigating as they also can mess with your cycle. I hope you get some answers soon hun.:hugs:

Thanks ladies :)

Donna - I had a scan on my ovaries which showed cysts which the sonographer said looked like PCOS, but she couldn't diagnose, as she didn't have my blood test results. I went back to the GP and he said that it was 'probably' PCOS because my oestradiol levels were too high or something... so he referred me to a specialist. I thought that was really odd because everything I read about PCOS mentioned LH, prolactin & testosterone, none of which he'd mentioned?

Anyway, when I was in yesterday, she went back over my results and said prolactin waas fine and LH was high, so I dont know? she never mentioned anything. When I mentioned what he told me she said that Id never been tested for that hormone and it doesnt even have anything to do with PCOS.

She said I dont look like a typical case (which I dont) and I could just be one of the ladies who has long cycles, but she wants to look into it further anyway. She was looking at all my blood tests Ive had done since March (had a bunch done recently when I had depression again) and she said they all look fine.

If theres nowt wrong with me, thats brilliant, but if there is I would want to know so I can try and help? Theres other stuff like serious stomach cramps that feel like contractions I get every day, dizziness, fainting etc and now this sickness for the best part of a month and a half. Its that thats getting me down more than anything because I feel like I can't do anything about it iykwim.

Also GRR about clearblue tests!! I paid like £15 for 2 yesterday coz I thought they were better!!! my OH will KILL me when he finds out

x

Oh chick, thats really confusing. Maybe you dont have PCOS then if they couldnt diagnose you and the female doctor has said everything looks ok? Must be hard being in limbo and not knowing one way or the other.
At least shes going to look into it more and see if there is a problem or not. I just hope they dont mess you about and they find out soon hun :hugs2:

Lol...oh dear :dohh: You should have just went to boots to see if they had any deals on FRER....they really are the best tests out there IMO. x xx

Thanks hun :)

Of course Id rather there be nothing there, but if there is I want to know for my own piece of mind feel like Im going crazy just waiting again.

Also the stomach cramps and dizziness are unbearable :( x
