Ok to use tampons 6wks after birth?

Hiya,
Don't quote me on this but I seem to remember being told not to use tampons for my first period with my first baby. Is this the case, it's just I'm having my first period now and bleeding so heavy, sanitary towels are really not nice to use!
Can I use tampons? I only had a graze after birth which is now healed.

I was told to wait until 2nd period to use any products that go in you (i use a mooncup)

My Dr said tampons after 6 weeks was ok...

I used tampons when i got myfirst period . But i do remember my doc saying to wait till ur 2nd cycle.
I think she said to wait to make sure things were healed and to keep germs away

I was given the okay to use tampons at my 6 week appointment. My dr actually gave me one at my appointment as I had started my period a few days before.

I used tampons 4 weeks PP but MIL said not to as the cervix isn't in it's original place and is open to infection. I stopped using them and waited until my 3rd or 4th period. Stuck with pads until then.

I had a section nor did I dilate fully, so it may be different for natural as you're fully "open".
