Old wives tales...which worked for you?

So.... What old wives tales worked for everyone?
This is my 2nd baby. With my first (DS) I didn't get sore boobs, craved savoury and meats, carried low, had great skin and hair.
This pregnancy.... Sore heavy boobs (but now passed) really spotty oily hair and skin and craving sweets, juice and CAKE!!!
