Olive Madeline

If this baby is a girl i want to name her after her great grandmother Olive Madeline. Most of the family is in awe, while some think it's an "old" name and that the baby will be picked on. Personally i love it and think its adorable! I just don't know what to say to the ones who do not like it...

Don't you just wanna slap people that say stuff about the names! My boy name is Kayden Brave and my cousin thought it was awful. I just said, well I'm glad I'm the one growing it and get to decide. She got the hint. I do love being able to speak my mind now. lol! Good luck! If it gets too bad just don't tell anyone. We had some family do that after people we poking fun of the names they were thinking about.

That's a really pretty name Lovely choice! The name Olivia is also really pretty, but Olive is great because it's not as common. If I remember rightly, Sacha Baron Cohen's little girl is named Olive.

Olive is a lovely name. it was my grandma and great grandma's names. My Grandma was Olive Pearl, love that!

Dont feel that you have to justify your l/o's name to anyone hun, if they dont like it then tough! Its not their child . One of my name choices is Madeleine (after my nan), and May will definately be her middle name (after my other nan) . I love names with sentimental meaning. xx

I absolutely LOVE Olive. My OH HATES it though as do all my family so we havent chose it Although saying that if me AND OH loved it id say stuff the rest its our child

When i first read it i thought it said Olivia and i thought Boring!! but when i looked again and it said Olive i though that is so cute!!!

I agree that a lot of the older names are cycling back. I think it's a nice trend. Olive is a beautiful name.

Thank you for all your kind responses! I adore the name!! I would love this name to come back big time!! And i also would not be offended one bit if anyone else wanted to use it as well. My DH personally doesnt like the name Olivia because its very common, but does like Olive. Surname are you refering to last name? If so it's White.

hey dont worry about what the people think who dont like the name you just cant please everyone when it comes to names. Olive madeline does sound ok to me but would she just be called olive at school and stuff im just thinking of the people who said it sounds old i think olive on its own would sound old BUT if its what you like it doesnt matter I love Olivia but my oh wont allow it as its "too old fashioned" grrr
