I've heard that taking omega 3 can be good for the development during pregnancy but I just wanted to check that what I've got is safe to take. I bought Asda brand Omega 3 Fish Oil which says each capsule provides Omega 3 Fish Oil (1000mg), providing Omega 3 (300mg) and EPA/DHA (260mg). Is this safe? I want to do everything in my power to have a healthy pregnancy and baby after all my losses.

Check if it has vitamin a in it, and if so how much. Too much can cause birth defects.

It doesn't mention Vitamin A at all anywhere on the bottle.

Personally I'd stick to supliments specially created for pregnancy or at least run it by a midwife or doctor before taking it. Pregnancare plus has omega 3 included in it :)

The pregnacare ones are okay but made me sooo sick! I'm vegetarian so bought vegetarian alternatives.

I use the pregnancare plus ones at the moment so I know they are safe for pregnancy, but pretty sure the normal omega 3 tablets are too. When I was TTC I bought just normal omega 3 from boots, and noticed the omega 3 & 6 or other omega 3 tablets with extras said something about not to be used in pregnancy, but the omega 3 didn't say anything about pregnancy.

I spoke to the pharmacist in boots and their own brand omega 3 300mg for £1 is safe in pregnancy and the one they recommend. Hope that helps and congratulations xx
