I am having real problems with Thomas' poo! He is on aptamil first and has been for 6 weeks. He used to poo many times per day, and they were always quite soft but...

in the past 5 days or so he is only going once per day and it is so runny it goes down his back when I lay him dwn to change him. It leaks out of his nappy and has ruined some of his clothes. I end up having to bath him! It is making me terrified of going out anywhere.

He is not ill, feeding well and gaining weight so not sure what it is - called Aptamil helpline and they couldn't help.

Anyone else had this? What can I do?

Please help!

i personally havent used aptamil but one of my best friends has and her little boys poo was very very runny aswell.. the only way he stopped doing it was when she changed his milk sorry i couldnt help hun

Daisy has just come off Aptamil and now you mention it I did have ALOT of leaky poo nappies, I was on the verge of calling Pampers to tell them their nappies are rubbish!
I also had to throw away quite a few vests and outfits.

Daisy is on Cow and Gate now and seems alot more settled and happier. I don't know about the nappies though cos she is in size 3 but we just moved onto size 3 babydry instead of size 3 newbaby so that could be why they arent leaking. her poos seem to be less runny too but I thought that was maybe cos she was getting older....

Could well be Aptamil...

Sorry for going on a bit!

lexis poos were like that on aptamil! but i always knew when she was pooing so i got her up the the bathroom and nappy off and just before it started leaking. i've also switched to cow and gate and her poos aren't watery/leaky anymore, just green and muddy, kinda like a mudpack facemask..

Hmm Ollie's are really runny too, hadn't thought about it being the formula. Will keep an eye on it and might change from Aptamil to something else then x

Fin's were really runny and he's on Atpamil Hungry Baby. HV says it's probably because it's so similar to breast milk so they're not as solid as other formula fed baby poos! Who knows. If he's not losing weight or ill I shouldn't worry. xxx

Jack is on Aptamil hungry baby and has never had a problem with runny poos.....so far

Tom poos once every couple days and it can be quite bad, he's on the ready milk though not formula :)

My baby was grand on Aptamil, and although mainly breastfed now he never had the runny breastfed poo people talk about. Some babies are just messier poo-ers than others I think.

Where is the poo leaking- legs or back? It could be the fit of the nappy, I find that if his nappy is really tight round the waist the poo goes further up towards the waist. My baby has chunky thighs so the nappies (Tesco usually) are quite snug there and he never leaks out the legs.

Erin has been on aptamil for about 4 months now and I've never had any problems with leaky nappies. Her poos are yellow and quite soft but not really runny. She sometimes poos every day or sometimes once every 48 hours.
