Omg, omg, omg!!!!! UPDATE pg 5

OMG!

i had my thyroid removed in september last year,
found out in dec i was pg and had a mmc two weeks later:cry: (@ 8+3wks), after my op i was on calcium for a 6wks but was told to come off it as bloods were fine.
i had the numbness in my feet/legs and part of my face,
it just makes you think that they should test bloods more often to rule out these things.

sending :hug::hug:to you and hope we get a :bfp:really soon xx

Mrs JD I hope all goes well for you...however a big slap on the hand for searching the net it is a bad source for information. Can I recommend to you in future that you go to a search engine called INTUTE to get any medical information as it is all from approved sources and you won't get any of the junk of fear in there. I hope that all goes well for you in the future and I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Thanks for the info hun, I will be a doctor by the end of all this

Well I know tomorrow.....bloody thyroid, so wish I never had it removed. They removed the parathyroid gland too and it never kicked back in. My gyn doesn't know all this and I've been feeling shitty since last thursday, hence the reason why I've been ODing on Sandacol

Good luck at your appointment! I hope the thyroid is what it is. Keep us posted.

Well girls here's the update!

Seen my thryroid surgeon today! Firstly she was disgusted my consultant wasn't doing further tests. Her comment was "you aren't a spring chicken" which I was trying to explain to my consultant last week.

Feeling good to the fact that she sat and listened. Told her about my body not feeling right and she agreed that would be the calcium from the parathyroid gland and how this can cause RECURRENT MISCARRIAGE, god, I should have trained as a doctor

So I've to go to my GP (appointment was at 3.20 pm and I had missed the bloods for today :hissy:) and have the following checked:

Thryoid function
Calium
Magnesium
Thyroglobulin - which is checking thyroid cancer
Thyroid peroxidase antibody

These aren't standard tests my consultant would have done. She believes my thyroid might be the cause of my RMC.

Answers, Answers, Answers that all I'm asking for!!!!!

It's wonderful news that the doctor's are going to test you. Congrats on your sleuthing work! Here's hoping that the blood work gives you some answers and you can move forward in a positive direction from here.

I'm so pleased that she took you seriously and you're going to get your tests. I really hope they're able to provide you with some answers :hugs:

Just goes to show how well you must 'know' your body and why more professionals should listen!

Brilliant news! I hope these tests show something - I'm so glad she took you seriously! xxx

I am sorry to hear about your losses. Good luck with your appointment, I hope you find a way forward.

just goes to show, if you don't read the stuff on the net then the doctors can just fob you off.

Good luck with your appointment Mrs.

Thats great news hopefully you get some answers from your bloods!! You see, sometimes you need to do your own research you definately know your body best!! No spring chicken? its as well you're not easily offended lol

Good Luck xx

Im with you on this one, hun, you know i am. As a qualified research whore, yes i did say that, lol, i believe that if you are a reasonably rational person you can be your own best advocate, and i think you have proven this. Im well impressed!

Now, lets hope you get those answers you so deserve!!

Im absolutely on tenterhooks and am steadying myself with some vino for tomorrow, lol! :)

My biggest fear is that it wont show up- ive got every marker and im SURE that the blood clotting issue is the problem..but of course that dosent mean it'll show up..oh god..groan! LOL!!

Very chuffed for you honey, its great having someone taking you seriuously- after all this info wouldnt be out there was it not for it actually being an issue for some people.

Anywhoo...hope you get what you're looking for and baby to boot- here, here!! :)

Hugs, OMi xxx

Haven't been on here a while. So glad you managed to at least get your bloods tested again for something that probably should have been thought about before.

I've been lucky really. Before I went on holiday last week I got loads of blood taken, 6 tubes of the stuff so my doc is taking things seriously - even the nurse couldn't believe how much was being taken ha ha. Bit nervous but excited about the results in a way. At least we can maybe rule things out at least? Good luck x
