What have others been told about this? Not convinced my doctor is making sence. Took the baby asprin to help with conception. Had three normal pregnancies with no bleeding and no baby asprin. Just wondering what you think???

I'm on baby aspirin but because of some antibodies that are in my blood that make me more prone of getting clots. Why are you taking it?

You have a subchorionic hematoma?? Im a little confused at your question. Are you taking it because you have the hematoma or have you been taking it all along and now have one?
I actually took baby aspirin just up until a couple days after ovulation, only because I had just had a miscarriage and wanted to try right away and was afraid my uterine lining would be too thin to hold a pregnancy so soon after. I did get pregnant, but started bleeding at 7 weeks and found out I have a hematoma, but I don't think taking aspirin would be a good idea while having one, because you are bleeding inside and actually want it to stop so it can heal. Mine eventually healed around 15 weeks. Again I only took aspirin up till 2dpo. I dont think you need to be taking it anymore. You may want to wean yourself off. Like take half for a few days, then 1/4 a few days then stop, just because it has been making your blood circulate more and it is thinner now, just so its not so abrupt. Talk to your Dr of course

Aspirin is a platelet aggregator, meaning it breaks up clumps of your blood components, which helps prevent clotting difficulties. I am not very familiar with SCH but I think it can be caused by clots? Maybe he is hoping the aspirin will help the clots to break up and decrease the bleed?

I took it to help in conception and then receptionist told me to stay on until second trimester. I'm a little confused as to if I even have a clot. I was told I have implantation bleeding around my sac. I am 10 weeks along now. However, ultrasound reports indicate healing and last one didn't mention the bleeding at all. I wish my doctor would talk to me about it.

Call him and ask him! Unless the receptionist is a nurse/receptionist she has no medical training and is just going by what the doctor has told other patients.

Don't know anything about subchorionic hematoma, sorry, but I have been taking 75mg aspirin to help with conception then to prevent miscarriage because it prevents clots which can cause miscarriage. I have been told to stop it by 34 weeks because you do not want thin blood at the birth.
Thanks for the advice on coming off it slowly ashley2pink, I was worried about it causing something to go wrong when I stopped.

Doctor told me to take it until week 32 today. I don't understand why. As I can't talk to him directly I can't ask questions.

Yes a subchorionic hematoma is a clot or tear in the placenta. But you dont want to be breaking up the clot with a blood thinner is my impression. For it to heal the clot would eventually reabsorb or be bled out(on its own) and then eventually the placenta will heal, but if you are taking a blood thinner I imagine it will take even longer to heal because you will bleed easier. Also, it may not be a clot causing the bleed site, but a seperation in the placenta which is what I had I was told. I never bled any clots, just blood, and for it to heal the bleed site on the pacenta will need to clot up a little(picture a wound on your skin, it wont heal as long as it bleeding, once the bleeding stops it can in a sense clot up and eventually heal).
Its weird to me that your Dr wants you to still be on it, if you only took it to aid in conception and have no other reasons. A hematoma shouldnt be the reason to be kept on it, to me it makes no sense. Did he say why he wants you to still be on it? I am part of a forum of women who have or had a hematoma and not once were any of told to take aspirin.
EDIT: Also a subchorionic clot is NOT the same as the clot you get that you do need to take aspirin for. They are 2 totally different things.
