on clomid and not ovulating?!

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for a year and a half... we have both had tests and no problems have been found so my dr. put me on clomid 50mg cd2-6. I was told to start ovulation testing on cd12 – it’s now cd20 and no sign of ovulation! Is it possible I ovulated earlier? Is it possible I’ll still ovulate later in my cycle? Or that the tests just didn’t pick it up?? I’m just so confused and frustrated because I’ve ovulated naturally on previous months I’ve used ovulation tests...

My cycle is 30-32 days. I was hopeful this month starting clomid... now I am just feeling defeated again.

Hi Id,

Typically on clomid you ovulate 5-10 days after you take your last pill. For me it was 9 & 10. What type of OPK are you using? It looks like you are ov'ing normally on your own from you post but I can't tell. Some ladies have had delayed ovulation if they are O'ing on their own. I've seen it take 15 days or even a couple longer before people O, but it's not that common. Are you getting a day 21 blood draw to confirm ovulation?

If you did not ovulate on 50 mg they will bump you up to 100/150 mg, which isn't abnormal by any means to need those types of doses.

Thanks so much for your response.

I'm using Clearblue OPK. I've been ovulating on my own for the past few months at least and my dr. put me on Clomid to increase chances, as... well... nothing is happening.

You have given me some hope for this month.. I will continue testing and pray for O! But I'm not getting a blood test done to check - my dr didn't mention that to me. If I don't ovulate this month I will definitely ask for that for following months.

Sigh... I just hope it works out for me soon.. I don't mind the increased dosage I just want it to happen soon I guess.

Clearblue is a good brand, very reliable so that's great! Maybe you're just getting a bunch of super big eggs on your first clomid cycle

I would definately ask for bloods to confirm and see how strong your ovulation is.

I know how stressful TTC can be especially when you get to the point of needing to use meds. I hope you get your BFP quickly! It took me two clomid cycles to fall pregnant. I know it's hard but don't give up hope, lovey!

AAhhhhhh!!! I think I'm officially crazy...
On clomid 1st cycle, still using the ovulation tests from cd12 and nothing! cd 23 now... I'm thinking to just give up peeing on sticks everyday as I'm going insane and I can’t be ovulating this late... surely? On my 3rd pack now.
I think I need to make a dr. appointment to get some more advice on whether to increase my dosage or to persevere – sometimes I wonder if there’s any point... It’s just more money out of our pocket and no answers to why this is happening to me!!!
I just don't understand why this isn't working for me :_(
I'm so fed up.. so angry at the world.. so upset with myself - with my body!!!
I just feel like this is never going to happen for me... and I don't know why! Why is it so difficult for me?
If it sounds like I’ve lost it, it’s because I have! I just need to get my feelings out somehow...
I don’t know if I can take another month of disappointment...

Are u temping? I used clear blue tested twice second lasy cycle and never got a smiley now last cycle i had one stick left cd 13 i tested and wala my first Smiley ever u could just. Be missing ur surge try temping if u arent already or try using cheapies so u can see lines building

And girl im with u on the disappointment its hard not to get bummed sadly some of us have to gear up for the baby war alot more. Than others im on cycle 7 ughh when i thought id get prego really quick yea major fail
