on SMP but offered new job- can i still claim?!

Hi

I've worked part time for my current employer for 4 years and can claim SMP up until August. However i have been offered another job 1 day a week starting asap. Can i work for new company and still claim my SMP from current employer? I dont want to take new work on if not as financially ill be a lot worse off. I will be working both jobs as normal come August when my SMP finishes.

You can't claim SMP if you're working, as you would no longer be on maternity leave. Even if it's a different employer.

no but you could use your kit days

Couldn't use KIT days for a new employer, only current one. Also worth checking if there is any restriction from your current employer about working for someone else while being employed by them.

You cant claim maternity if you take another job - it would cease immediatly, You cant claim maternity pay if you are no longer on maternity leave (even if you are working for another company) Xx
