For those of you that have older babies that are good sleepers, have they always been good sleepers?
And those who frequent the sleepness nights thread, have your babies always slept badly or were they better when they were younger?

My little boy is almost 10 weeks old and since starting a bedtime routine when he was 6 weeks he's been pretty well behaved in the night. He has a bath, bottle and is in bed for approx 8pm. He used to wake just once around 3am for a feed but in the last week or so has woken twice (2am and 5am approx) though he will go back to just once at 4am ish if I give him a dreamfeed at 11pm when I go to bed. He then sleeps through till 8am, has a botlle, an hours chat/ play/ look around in bed with me and then will go back to sleep. He then sleeps until anywhere from 11am to 1pm if we're not needing to be out anywhere!
When people ask how he sleeps I feel like I'm jinxing myself if I say 'actually he sleeps really well!'
I prepared myself for being up all night everynight with him so I'm not finding the nights too bad at the moment but wonder if this is going to last or could I still end up with a bad sleeper?

My 10 yr old has been a fantastic sleeper since birth - he never had a regression.

Mine was always v good then starting sleeping straight through at 11 weeks. He's starting waking once now - am hoping it's a regression and just temporary!

i dont want to jinx myself but kacey is very good. She has slept 12hr straight since 6 weeks. And since then has woken once in the night less than 10 times. Now she sleeps 13 hrs a night. You wait shell wake tonight now lol x

My LO slept through till 4 am from 5/6 weeks and then it got later and later till 8/9.
4 month sleep regression he would wake up but got over that and was fine till he started teething. grr i hate teething. When he's not teething he sleeps through as normal.
I slept through from 4 weeks and always have been a good sleeper i never didnt sleep through not even teething (apparently)

i think aslong as u keep the routine he should be ok, but might have bad sleep when teething and obviously when ill.

Mia has been a brilliant sleeper since birth...until now!
and surprise surprise shes teething lol!!
But still, its not terrible, she just gets fussy and I give her a cuddle and she goes back over x

Belle slept all day and night when born then started sleeping through all night when 8 weeks and had had maybe 15-20 bad nights since then when she been teething or
Poorly never had awful night but annabelle won't sleep with me and I prefer her not to so I end up with her wide awake it's not to bad as very far between! Since she moved bedroom few weeks ago she now gets up anytime from 6am though :( lol

Thank you ladies for filling me with hope

Every night I think this is the night when it all ends. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep doing my good deeds.

Nope. Tabitha was a great sleeper as a newborn, waking up to feed every 3 hours and going straight back to sleep after a feed. It lasted until she was about five months old and she's been terrible ever since, some nights she wakes up every 45 minutes! She's almost a year old now and no sign of her sleeping through the night.

My son was the other way around. He was terrible until 10 months old and then suddenly started sleeping through the night, which he carried on doing until we ran into toddler sleep problems about a year later.

nope

:coffee:

Harrison was brilliant at sleep when he was younger, he started sleeping thru at 6weeks. Then at 5/6months started waking 4/5times a night, only recently (the last few weeks) has he started sleeping thru for the odd night

Connor has always been a brilliant sleeper. Never got more then 2-3 times even as a newborn. He started sleeping through by 11-12 weeks.
During teething he had a handful of times of getting up once a night, but not too many.

Both my babies were sleeping through and in a set bedtime routine by 6weeks they both now go to bed at 6pm and sleep right through 97% of the time until 7:30-8am I think routine is key.

My baby has never slept well.

Ava used to sleep great. From 2 months old she slept from 9pm to 9am. At 4.5 months old she started waking twice a night to feed again. Then at 5 months she got two teeth. We are now at 5 3/4 months old and she is till waking twice a night to feed. I've tried leaving her for a few minutes to see if it's just habit but the whining just turns into crying so I know it's hunger. So for Ava no. She used to be a good sleeper and now she's not a good sleeper anymore.

Daisy slept through 10 hours without waking at 5 weeks. By 4 months she stopped. She's getting better slowly!

LO started sleeping through at 10 weeks. And she has always slept till 8-8.30am! The last 3 weeks though have been a different story.. She keeps waking through the night and waking up fully around 7am.

I think it's just her teething that is waking her up, as she falls back asleep after some teething gel and putting her dummy back in. xx

Hazel was a brill sleeper untill she got to 4 months old and it went to pot!! She has just started sleeping through again now and she is 8.5 months!! Hope it lasts this time! xx

Tristan used to sleep through from 6weeks, 9-6 then hit 4/5months and hasn't slept through since! He wakes everything between 30mins to 2hours :( so tired!

My son slept through the night from 7 weeks. He is 3 now and has only ever woken in the night if he's sick. He is the best sleeper, always has been and I've had alot of stick about it and how lucky I am. My daugter is 6 months and has slept through from 5 weeks. She has also been great....so far! I really hope she carries on like her brother did. I think if they have good sleeping habits from the beginning, then they should carry on into childhood. Good luck with your LO! Xx
